Olympus TG-5 (High Definition) 0.5x Wide Angle Lens With Macro + Lens Adapters + Krusell Multidapt Neck Strap (Black Finish)

Although it dwarfs my Sony RX0ii, it doesn't add too much weight so I should still be able to use this on a selfie stick for my ground level critter photos I like to take. Works both as an inexpensive macro lens or a wide angle lens. I know a lot of people rave about the strength of a metal housing on a lens but the only thing that would have made me happier would be a plastic housing so make it just a little more light weight, but I know I'm in the minority about that idea. A surprisingly excellent lens. Better than I was expecting.

I teach underwater photography and have used many systems. With the Olympus setup I was looking for something cheap for young students (we run off grants... really tight budget). They TG-5 has it's own issues, but is ok. However, it is not up to standard without the wide angle.However, both wide angle and fish-eye get bubbles between them and the camera when used underwater. I normally fault myself when things don't work, and I'm usually right. However, these just don't work underwater at snorkeling depths.I am very frustrated to learn that the tg-5 setup is really meant for a housing system (which we can't afford in my program). I am going back to a competitor with a cheaper housing- not ideal but forced to by circumstance.IF you have the money for the Olympus housing, I think it would be a solid choice. If you are thinking you can use this snorkeling without a housing... you will have a frustrating day.I have not tried this with SCUBA, but see other reviews (outside Amazon) and the consensus is you want the housing.The lens itself is really nice however, and works well above water.

I purchased this product to take on a hiking trip in hopes to get wide angle views of mountains and skyline. I could not tell a difference. I requested to return the item as I only used it once and was not satisfied, but was denied by the seller because it was outside of the return policy dates. If you want to purchase it for a trip make sure you do not do it early so you can return it if you would like.
