No. All of the Exos HD are CMR, not SMR. CMR HD tend to be faster but the SMR drives can store more data with fewer platters. The SMR drives are slower due to the requirement for a cache prior to "shingling" the data". Seagayte does have SMR HDs but those are 8TB or LESS.

Q: Are these suitable for NAS setup?

I use 8 of these in a Synology DS1821+, they work fine. These are rated for rack use in a data center so they are designed to work with a ton of drives in a rack.

Q: Can these drive be "factory reset"?

If the original HDD had preloaded software that was removed, you won't get that back. Otherwise simply formatting the HDD will remove all data and return it to a clean drive.

Q: Are these good for conitinuous use in a sercurity camera dvr?

I have not seen any problems using Seagate for many years, and, for what so ever purpose, any hardrive will do (differences are just marketing ploys to allow steeper pricing, as you may know ;-))
