too heavy and too thin to hold, the little tea spoon is too little to use. looks very nice but not practical to use.

I registered for these after using similar style by Mepra at a restaurant in Chicago. This was by far my favorite thing from my registry! The little spoons are perfect for tasting while you cook, and stirring your coffee. This flatwear legit feels like silk in your hands and after using them for a month, I don't see any dings or scratches from dishwasher or regular use. The only problem is I don't have as many sets as I would like! ;)

Bought these when we moved into our new apartment. It's been about 5 months now and they still look great after daily use. They are slender and have a great weight to them.

I love this set. I use it for my lunch utensils in my office. They are very sleek, heavyweight and easy to clean. The material is heavyweight and sturdy, but still comfortable for carrying in a lunchbox or travel bag.

I'm not one of those "ooo it's European, it must be good" types, just so you know. That won't be apparent in this review, though, because I'm smitten with these.Mepra is an Italian company that has an extensive line of flatware, pots and pans, and serving dishes. They're a big name there and I'd say they were on the high end of middle, price wise. Quality-wise, however, I'd call them seriously high. There's a video attached to this listing, and another one on their web site. Both are excellent and give you a real good look at how they handle their manufacturing.These aren't quite the same sizes as what we've come to expect in the US. I put a pic up so you can see the difference in the fork. Just a bit longer, with the bowl starting at a different length. The picture shows both this pattern's dinner and salad forks with just a random dinner fork from my own collection.The knife is 9.25", which I think is just a tad longer. The dinner fork is 8.25", salad fork 7.5". The table spoon is just a tad longer as well, at 7.75", and more of what we in the US would think of as a soup spoon. What we'd think of as a teaspoon is considered a "coffee spoon" there, and at 5.5", a bit smaller. We'd probably call that more of a demitasse spoon.And now to my personal opinion... this flatware feels like butter. I am not kidding. The surface is so smooth and 'soft' feeling. Very well-balanced. This particular style is on the simple end of their designs, but there is nothing missing in them. This one, the Atena pattern, is for people who look down their nose at 'full frontal' and instead appreciate 'simple elegance' as the real 'sexy'.I've never limited myself to one pattern for flatware (or glassware). I enjoy being able to pick up a piece or a place setting of something I find beautiful. I do, however, have my favorites, and these are now at the top of my list.

This is another beautifully finished and unique place setting from the Italian company Mepra. It is 18/10 stainless and dishwasher safe.The Atena pattern is simple to the point of being austere. There is a sort of double curve to the handles which gives them a nice balance. The tablespoon is large enough to be used as a serving spoon and the “coffee spoon” is actually demitasse or tea size not the usual size we call a “teaspoon”. It would also serve nicely as a baby-feeding spoon. Very nice place setting.
