They fit well once zipped, hold strong and sharpies work
Very pleased with these zip tie labels. Once zipped they sit parallel on the cable, and you can write on them with a sharpie. The label space is small, but I made it work.

but sturdy enough to stay on your wires/cables
It just simply works. If you are in similar situation as mine, in which you have a bunch of electronics devices, some of them are in use and others are not. One day, you may find a power cord or connection cable and have no clue which device it belongs to, then you will need this to properly lable all your power cords and cable. It's a huge help in that regard, of course in addition to label those in use. It's very to use, just tie and cut and it will be there. It's thin, but sturdy enough to stay on your wires/cables. Its face is small, but provide enough room for you to make note (don't expect to write a whole center on it), and in this case a Sharpie would be helpful.

Great for labeling cables for the next guy
I deal with installing computer and telephony hardware daily. The biggest complaint I get from end-users is that they can't locate the cable or the plug they need to troubleshoot a particular device.Using cable tags are important to let the "next guy" know where everything is and how you installed it.Pros- Good price, simple to use, allows for writing in it with a sharpie.Cons- Wish they had choice of sizes and colors.

Perfect for labeling instrument/mic cables
I needed a cheap and easy way to distinguish my personal guitar cables from the ones belonging to my church. These work perfectly. You can write on the label with a Sharpie and it doesn't smudge. For 1/4" instrument cables (and for standard XLR mic cables) it will tighten enough that it won't slide up and down the cable; the label flexes a little bit to get it tight. There is just enough room on the label to write my initials and the cable length (which is also helpful when trying to find the one you want in a bagful of cables!). I chopped off the excess and they're very unobtrusive. You could label both ends of 50 instrument cables with this if you wanted to, and you can't beat the price.

Tough and strong - Relatively inexpensive - But a couple surprises buyers might miss
This was my first purchase of this style zip-tie. These ties for labeling cords and other things are good -- tough, strong, tite locking -- but they have a couple of surprises someone new to them might miss. First the ties are more translucent, almost clear, than white. . .writing doesn't stand out as starkly as one might think and writing on one side shows through to the other. The writing area is small, about 1x1/4 inches, so label text must be very short and sweet. The zip-tie lock mechanism is above the label area rather than below it, as with other labeling ties, so the thin tie and that broad label area both must be snugged around what it's attached to rather than cinching only the tie tight and the label standing clear -- this design is less of a potential problem (of sliding, for instance) with broader and fatter cords or if the tie is fixed around the plug itself. Another review suggested wrapping the tie a couple of times before locking it to keep it snug on thinner cords, which might be helpful.Given all that, the ties still are very servicable and inexpensive. . .100 in a bag at about half the cost of others (as of 8/2015).

Exactly, precisely what I was looking for
I don't get the complaints that they are too small. Considering that I have 40 of them in close proximity to one another in my network switch, small is what I need. And I only need room for a few characters on them ("D25" for example or "V17") so these work for me.As for them staying in place: Yes, I can see having a minor problem getting them tight enough, but just do what another reviewer suggested: "I wrapped the tie around the cable completely once around before inserting into the locking slot. This way the marker tie is very secure and does not slip up and down the cable, no matter how thin the cable is."Finally, the price is oh-so-right, not even $0.04/each! For under four bucks...shipped...I have enough of these to last me three years!

Not the Same As Pictured
From the item picture I thought I had finally found what I had been searching for. I felt it was strange that its label surface dimensions were not provided. When I compared my single sample, allowing for the angle and perspective, I was sure it matched my sample's 1.0" × 0.3". However, I was disappointed when I received my order. Rather than being 1.0" × 0.3" they were all 0.9" × 0.45" (the picture certainly does not have a 2:1 surface although it is 4" long). I guess I will just have to keep on searching.

Quality Cable Tie Tags
I saw a number of conflicting reviews for cable tie tags so I went with the Monoprice brand that I trust and was not disappointed! The size of these tags are sufficient for wrapping single CAT-5 cable, RG-6 quad cable, and 14ga speaker wire. It of course works for wrapping multiple cables. I was most concerned about wrapping a single cable due to reviews about the tie being too loose and slipping about, but they work great- no worries.I use an ultra fine Sharpie retractable marker on these ties and they work great. No smudges. The 90-degree tie label runs parallel with the cable, which aids in reading as well as not causing issues when bundling many cables or pulling through an oversized hole.
