the volume down on my speakers randomly change the input on it which can be annoying, and my projector remote will turn it off. overall though its a handy little hdmi splitter that works great with a lot of inputs. my roku had HDCP errors all the time with my old HDMI splitter but this one has yet to have an error. the remote btw.. is TINY super easy to lose.

This switch is not 4K. I have a Android Box (the UT8) connected to it and the box does have an HDMI 2.0 port which I have connected two cables that were both HDMI 2.0 up to it and the switch. The switch is connected to my 4K television which also has HDMI 2.0. The best resolution I can get on my Android Box is 1080p @ 60Hz. If this switch was really 4K I should be getting a 4K resolution. But my resolution has been downgraded because this switch is not 4K. I wasted like $70 on this when I bought it in 2020. It is now less than half that price but understand you will not get 4K resolution out of it.

I researched and read several reviews among HDMI switchers that i needed. One of the most important is 4K compliance along with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. This is a necessary for UHD Televisions, Sony PlayStation 4 Pro and Microsoft Xbox One S system setups. I purchased this HDMI 2.0 Switch 5x1 by Awakelion. First try: I have all proper cables input and output to tv and switcher along with the power plug. This power plug is needed for this model to work, otherwise just get a blank/black screen. I connected everything, hooked up and made sure each picture was showing manually. However once I started to try to use the remote or switcher itself, i noticed a significant issue or defect. From first use it wouldn't work properly. I powered off first then on again. Then i tried using both the arrow keys and the number keys to switch and realized an issue. If I switch the input to a non-powered on device, The unit COMPLETELY FREEZES and can't use it at ALL! I couldn't even use the remote or the device itself to change to ANY INPUTS! This is a huge flaw. In order to unfreeze the specific device hdmi output needs to be completely disconnected and you have to wait until it auto switches itself to correct?!? What is wrong with this thing?!? I have also noticed this unit has severe picture issues with the PlayStation 4 Pro. Serious picture noise to where I notice static and blinking white flashes in parts of the screen and complete loss of picture and audio with a blank/black screen while using system or playing games. This forced me to plug the Playstation 4 Pro system directly back into the system to confirm this and of course no issues with the same hdmi cable directly to tv hdmi input. Indicating a hardware defect or limitation of this unit. These issues defeating the purpose of getting this switcher. Since this is a 3rd party seller "fulfilled by Amazon" I can't even submit this for a replacement. I had to return and go through that process and wait for refund then I decided to order another one of these units after I tried another model that wasn't Playstation 4 Pro HDR compatible. I should just have gotten a properly working switcher which I thought i paid for. I purchased this wanting a properly working 4k, HDR, video game system switcher and that was not the case here.I also contacted the seller via email on the included card in the box for "customer service". I did not receive ANY reply or response. Disappointing "customer service".2nd try: Bought new unit plugged everything in turned on Playstation 4 Pro again and noticed same cutting i and out of picture and sound. I went into Playstation "Settings", "Sound and Screen", "Video Output Settings", and noticed all settings said "Automatic" which are the same settings that work when input directly to my TV. I went into "Video Output Information" and noticed said "color format RGB". I changed the "Resolution" from "Automatic" to "2160p - YUV420" and waited a few moments and tried playing games and this resolved the picture and sound cutting in and out. Pictures attached. However the same exact issue i had on the first try with the switcher itself was still persisting: If I switch the input to a non-powered on device, The unit froze and can't use it at all. I couldn't even use the remote or the device itself to change to any inputs. In order to unfreeze the specific device hdmi output needs to be completely disconnected and you have to wait until it auto switches itself to correct. Only after having leaving this connected after several hours it seems this glitch may have passed. I'm not understanding why.Awakelion do you intend to answer regarding this issue or answer the email i sent in the first place? Do you stand by the quality of your product or ever intend on helping a paying customer?I was able to resolve myself the picture and sound issue for the Playstation 4 Pro without any help or instructions, the switch glitch may have resolved itself after being plugged in for several hours. However, I am concerned about the long term temperment of this device. I would like to hear from Awakelion on this.In my humble opinion, I would not recommend this switcher until these bugs or kinks are worked out. I am giving a fair warning to the consumer to compare and contrast the several positive reviews on this product.People & opinions may vary, but I am sharing my personal experience and review.I am detailing and providing my valid issues with this product.

I've been using this HDMI Switch for a good couple of months now and I love it. I really like the auto-sourcing feature. I haven't noticed any input lag, any audio lag or any picture quality degradation. I use it to switch (no pun intended) between my Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS3 and Wii U and have never had an issue. Great quality product as far as I've experienced!Additionally, longevity is important. I bought this in November 2017, posted the first part of this review (above) in February 2018. It is now June 2018 and the unit still works great after a good 6-7 months. So many of these types of devices receive negative reveiws for not lasting that long. Personal experience, this thing is still alive and firing on all cylinders and that's worth mentioning as you do want your $50 investment to last as long as possible. Now, admittedly, 7 months isn't all that long in the grand scope....but some other devices like these some are reporting don't even last them 3 months. I use mine regularly and have been for the past 7 months and no issues to report on my end. Still as quality and reliable of a product as it was during my first review. My only issue is that I need another one! Too many devices....June 2018, I purchased a second 5x1 Awakelion HDMI switch for my setup. I have 8 HDMI devices in my setup right now so 1 5x1 wasn't enough. I have both of them in use - the first on HDMI1 on my TV and the second on HDMI2 since my TV unfortunately only has 2 HDMI ports. The second works just as well as the first one has for several months - and the nice thing is both can be controlled with a single remote rather than requiring two - one for each unit. I highly recommend this product - buying two of them should speak for something!July 2019,I purchased 2 of these - one in 2017 and one in 2018. It is now well into 2019 and both are still incorporated into my setup and both are working flawlessly. I have since adapted even more HDMI devices and I have pretty much all 10 ports between the two switches being used and all works great. I do not use the Switch for 4K pass-through, I bypass and go directly into my 4K TV from my Xbox One X for 4K quality so I cannot say either way whether 4K is good through the switch or not, though other reviews are saying it works just fine. As for build quality and longevity, the $100 I paid between the 2 switches was very well spent and I can't recommend this product enough. Now almost 2 years later since I bought my first one and it's still trucking along just fine.

I've had switch boxes like this in the past. Many sucked, others died. This one appears to be a winner. Works EVERY time and it does not appear to affect picture quality at all. I recommend it.

bought this item so i could use the extra item that use hdmi cable to the new samsung 55" tv, it is made of a strong sturdy metal case measuring (d) 65mm x (w) 160mm x (h) 20mm with a small remote control. installation is very easy just plug attach the mains plung into the box then plug into the mains, then just connect your items into the hdmi box and you are in business in other words you could class it as a plug in and go accessory. again so far very reliable.

It works for the most across all my different devices however when using my PC it thinks I am not using the TV and switches off entirely. Very annoying!

mine went bust in 3 months and I got it replaced without hassle. thank you. the device is great. I love the auto-switch function and the remote control as well.
