Great for Motorcycling in hot weather
Bought one as I was going on a Motorcycle trip through death valley in June. It was 115 degree air temp, and this vest kept me MUCH cooler than I even expected it would (I wore it directly on my skin covered by a tshirt and then a mesh riding jacket). In very hot weather it was extremely effective for about an hour, and very effective for about 4 hours (still keeps you cool, just not as dramatic effect as the first hour). 1 minute soak in a sink and it was ready to go again. Amazing product, will never ride in hot weather again without one.

Summer afternoon motorcycling is tolerable once again!
I ride with an armored jacket that happens to be very well ventilated and this vest allows me to be comfortable at temperatures exceeding 100°. I highly recommend this vest to anyone that struggles with heat sensitivity!!!! I also wear it around the house and when I'm out and about if it's hot out. Yeah it gets my clothes a bit wet, but I would rather be cool with wet clothes than be too warm.

Not viable for general travel i.e. backpacking / hiking etc.
Pros#1. The photos make it seem like its suitable only as a work jacket. But actually when its worn it doesn't look that bad as a general item of clothing (mine was black). Moreover, its a useful and flexible accessory to have in the evening when the searing heat is gone and it becomes a little chilly, as long as you didn't soak it that day!Cons#1. It soaks your underlying clothes. With gravity the water runs downwards. With jeans these will become soaked and stay soaked all day including your wallet and items in pockets!#2. It needs a lot of water, which really means it has to be soaked before you leave the hostel or hotel etc. This is a problem if that's not where the searing heat is, because it feels damp and cold while you take a bus or travel to a tourist destination where's there's no water around.#3. The jacket is pretty heavy when soaked. If you're climbing a mountain or moving hostel in searing heat it will add to your workload.#4. Can take days to thoroughly dry out. You risk soaking items you're carrying plus its heavy.---------------------------------------------Note to Manufacturers.Nice idea but it didn't work. These cooling vest products aren't viable for general travel i.e. backpacking etc IMHO. What range of temperatures do you test with? These vests are not evolved enough. But if you could improve them I'd gladly pay $100-200 dollars or more... Suggestions :-A. A way to activate the product i.e. carry water but not soak until you're at the destination. Critically, there needs to be way to control the amount of water or soaking throughout the way i.e. giving you time to get to your destination where there's no water. Its not practical to bring that amount of water in bottles when you also need water for hydration.B. A way to stop the water drenching your clothes. I'm guessing some of this could be solved by having collectors at the base of the jacket. Or waterproof pouches that carry the water and can opened as needed throughout the day. Or by having watertight pouches that store ice packs, with the packs shielded from the heat in order to preserve them.C. Overall though, I'd happily pay for something thoroughly high-tech. What about a vest that has a solar-powered gas based cooling system such as that used in an ice-box or fridge?

does not last
I own a ranch in colorado our summers are hot and dry.I bought 6 of these for my crew. They were a god send when they forst arrived. We wore them every day...then one guy started comenting how his vest did not absorbe water any more.Everyone else noticed the same thing.HyperKewl replaced all six of them...Thanks!!!But two weeks after the new set arrived the same thing. The cooling power is awosme. It just does not last!!!I would pay $100's for a product that would last longer then two weeks...Don't buy this hoping that it will last for more than 15 dunks.
