Our water is so hard that it doesn't take very long for a brass or other metal hose coupling to become virtually welded to our outdoor faucet. I have tried plumbers tape to no avail. Previously I had to use a dremel to cut off the coupling after days of spraying with WD40 and using pipe wrenches. For me, the plastic splitter was better. I love being able to leave a long hose attached to one side and I have a 3' hose attached to the other to fill watering cans, etc.

This hose connector worked fine for me and it did not leak. But I think if you used it a lot it would not hold up for a long time.

Arrived without gasket (or rubber ring) inside collar, so I had to put one in to keep it from leaking. Other companies include the gasket, so this is a drawback but an easy fix.This is the 2nd spring/summer/fall in the Midwest that I am using it on an outside faucet with a hose connected to one side the entire time. The other side is left open. I put it on the faucet after the last frost in April-May and remove it in late October early November. I use it almost daily when I use the hose or faucet. I do not have timers or sprinklers, so it isn't used under heavy pressure.Haven't had a problem.

Good splitter for the money. I needed plastic due to high chlorides in our well water. The other reviews about these not being sturdy were not the case for me. I even bought a second one for the front spigot after testing the first one out for a week. That said, I tend to leave my hose connected and on, so there is not a lot of on/off action to report. Overall I am very pleased so far. No leaks and apparent good quality.

Good hose splitter, with tight fit coupling and large valve knob to make adjusting water flow easy.

This splitter is basically OK. I own a similar one and it does the job. My issue is this...$6.50 is a little pricey for a plastic splitter and for that price I would expect a hose washer to be included. No washer! Of course I have extra washers so no huge deal, just really annoying. Give me a break!

Yeah, I know, metal ones are more durable, but give them a few months and the white lime accumulates and the threads will freeze, making removal impossible. These don't have that problem, ask me how I know...

I recently used 5 of these to manifold rain barrels together, where the large black fitting attaches to the rain barrel and two hoses run off the Y parts to other barrels and a hose to connect to soaker hoses. This lets me keep one barrel under the eavestrough and lets gravity equalize the water level in all the barrels. The on off knobs are great, albeit impossible to read from more than a couple inches away in the sunlight, but I can't help feeling that the whole thing feels a bit flimsy.In the future I would probably go with all metal Y connectors with no on off valves and a sturdier mounting.

This splitter is pretty cool. It has a narrow stance so it doesn't take up a lot of room next to the splitter I had already (I'm using this one for hot water). I like to blend the water for pressure washing my truck and it seems to be doing an excellent job. Hope it lasts.

Some reviews suggested that this product was not sturdy and suggest it was a cheap product but it works great and doesn’t leak. Don’t hesitate to buy this like I did.

Talk about splitting water! When this thing isn’t “ripping a water spout IN HALF” it was allowing “ONLY ONE SIDE TO WORK” with a functional AF dial thinger. It was easy to install (old outdoor tap) and was secure with vigorous testing. PARENTS: do have two rugrats that BOTH want to use the hose? Maybe for soaking each other? Hello this is for you. Also if you have a front and backyard. Totally useful for that as well.

Valves turn easily and don't interfere with one-another. Hose connector sleeves have raised ridges that make it easy to tighten or loosen the connection. Heavy plastic construction seems strong; we'll see.
