Works very well with Ubuntu 20 or Debian 11
Once you get past the irritating UEFI stuff installing Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 11.5 was no problem at all. Under either OS the machine runs in less than 2 Gig of memory, and watching HD movies onscreen runs the processor at less than 25%.Battery life is excellent, my main use for the machine is web development and I can get 3 or 4 hours of work done before I think about recharging - and it still has 25% left. I tend to run the screen at 25% brightness - it's actually too bright indoors for comfort.Screen quality is excellent - the IPS full HD really brings out colours and the image is sharp with no 'tearing' when watching movies.Very pleased with this machine. Would have liked a physical Ethernet jack, but the WiFi is fine.

OK PC, terrible service
It's fine, it's a basic Lenovo used for work purposes only. What is dreadful is the fact that it has taken hours to set up and even get on. The Windows 10 version is ages out of date and it is taking forever to go through all of them just to arrive at the latest and then upgrade to 11. If you want an OK work laptop then by all means buy it, just not from these people.

NOT a good buy for my husband
This 2as a lovely looking laptop however, in setting this up for my husband we didn't like the amount of 'Apps' that were installed that were not removable. We hated the Microsoft dominance & the fact from day 2 it kept insisting that we upgrade to a newer version of Windows despite the fact Windows 10 came with the laptop & has 3 more years to run. For younger people who rely on a multitude of 'Apps' this may be an ideal pc but for a couple of elderly people who just need to have online banking availability, Word, Excel & Office progs this was too in your face with the demands.Having built many computers from scratch in my younger days, decided to resurrect an older tower desktop pc & did a custom install of Windows 10 this way to have a greater level of control. That said, Windows 7 suited us fine & it is a real pain when you have to upgrade an operating system just to remain safe on the internet as Internet Security software become thin on the ground to stay with older versions.
