Stopped Working - Had to Reinsert the Ribbon Cable - Easy Fix - Could Have been Prevented With a Better Design
Let me start this review by saying that this was bought from Amazon Warehouse. You can often find some good deals. We use the JBL EON 315 as powered wedge monitors and are fairly good sounding. Last night the drummers monitor stopped working. No sound. No lights. I thought it was the fuse, which is often an indication of much worse things. This morning I opened it up. Opening these is straightforward. Use a 2.5mm hex wrench and remove the 8 screws from the front face plate. Note that the transducers are connected to the face plate and the wires to the power amp are not very long. When I looked inside the ribbon cable that connects the power amp to the input/output signal board was completely disconnected. The vibrations must have worked the cable out. I reinserted the ribbon cable and placed some electricians tape over the cable to keep it secured. It was an easy fix, but this is a design flaw. For $0.25, JBL could have used a locking connector. Hence the 3-star rating.

Eon Speakers 315 and 510
I bought the 315 and the 510 each for use in different venues. First of all the 510 is an excellent all around choice for most small to medium size room sound amplification pole mounted with height affixed to at least 6t. The 315 when mounted at proper heights whether on a pole at least 6ft. and fly mounted minimum 8ft., is good for most size rooms with proper eq adjustments. Both speakers are JBL quality with the sound and reliability that you'd expect from this company. A key factor here on both speakers are the weight, the 510 @17lbs. and the 315 @ 35lbs.They both sound great when properly eq'd, and you have that option as well with both speakers, however, follow basic company manual directions when it comes to setting up the eq on the 510 especially. If you choose the mic xlr input on the 510 and apply the switch for that mode, be sure to use it strictly for microphone use only as this will give you a high mic pre-amp gain. If you go plugging in a hot source like a keyboard to this mic input, you can kiss the diaphragm goodbye.I gave the 315 and the 510 both 5 stars for as these are excellent go to speakers for all situations.

Totally worth it...
Holy noise pollution, Batman....this thing punches!!God forbid you test it out with a song that has a baseline drop 1 minute in, like I did....wheww!! I wasn't ready for that.Highs & Mids are clean and sharp while the Bass response is powerfully smooth. I honestly thought it was going to be on the flat, lifeless side since it's the 315 instead of the 5 family. Nope...my gigs are felt without being too aggressive. Simple, rugged design keeps me all that much more confident to, during and from my performances. I am definitely buying another one and coupling 'em with my friend's EON 518S on my bigger gigs. Oh, the humanity. JBLs....try it and you'll understand. Now, if you'll excuse me.....I'm gonna go crank some tunes.

Not living up to the JBL brand name
I'm reducing my initial 3 start review to 2 stars. Less than 2 years old with minimal usage I have replaced a blown high frequency driver (after a year) and now, only 6 months later, the speaker sounds like garbage. This is the first JBL product I have purchased and likely the last.

Not worth the price
I read the reviews and expected great things. However, this speaker isn't very powerful. There is no bass, the sound quality is poor (goes up and down). When turned up, it shuts off ( keep in mind that it's not very loud). In my basement turned all the way up on, a speaker stand I can have a conversation without yelling from only 10 feet away. Do not purchase this speaker.

Highly Dissapointed in this Purchase
Purchased 2 of these speakers. Got to use them 1 time and they both quit working. Very dissapointed not sure I will ever purchase an electronic from amazon again.

Best choice for the price
I have had bad experience with a budget PA simply not being loud enough. After much research I was told by several people that JBL was the way to go. They were so right! This speaker is large, loud, and clear. I sing with a rock band with drums, a bassist with a POWERFUL stack, and my own 150 watt amp. We have since been able to seamlessly add a second guitarist and this PA more than rises to the occasion. We use it mainly for practice but I do not think it will be a problem using it for performances. I also noticed a local theater in NYC using these exact PAs as their main amplification (Though they had several)
