Exquisitely Handcrafted, Delivers an Excellent Scalp Massage
This handmade wooden scalp massager is really a work of art. The beautiful wood grain is perfectly polished to bring out it's natural beauty. Although the teeth are individually inserted in the base, you won't find a hint of glue. The construction is pristine and the teeth are securely anchored in the base that even when applying firm pressure for a deep massage, there is no fear of teeth becoming loose. Also note that the teeth are carved to have a rounded tip that ensures a massage is non abrasive and gentle on the scalp. The teeth are many in number so I'm able to benefit from a thorough massaging experience where more of my scalp is addressed with each hand movement. This massager is ergonomicaly designed where by slipping one finger through the handle, it rests most comfortably in the palm of the hand. The presentation is also impressive. Along with the beautiful box you'll find a lined, embroidered drawstring pouch. I find it the perfect accessory to keep this special massager protected especially when traveling. I realize this massager is costly and therfore I consider it a luxury item. I use a plastic scalp massager in the shower that costs a fraction of what this one does but there is truly a difference in how the massage feels. This handmade wooden massager is in a league of its own as far as the stimulating massage it delivers. It feels incredible as it increases circulation and relaxes me. I've incorporated scalp massage into my daily routine and this handcrafted massager is a welcomed special addition to my self care tools. I have posted some photos to give you a closer look and sincerely hope that they, along with my thoughts, help you out a bit with your choice. Thank you!

Beautiful and nicely made
This is a beautiful comb/brush. It's pieced, with the handle and teeth/bristles being separate from the main body. They're pieced together well, though, so this isn't overly noticeable, other than on the underside, where the end grain of the handle is darker than the cross grain of the brush's body. The handle is so nice, though! It may depend on finger size, but I have enough "give" with mine that it provides some stability while still having wiggle room. The brush works well as a scalp massager, because the underside is concave, and it conforms to the roundness of my head. For detangling, it's not as comfortable. The teeth don't have any give to them--they're wood set inside wood, rather than a rubber backing, and the teeth don't have flex either, so they stay put. Because of this, I'd think people with short hair would enjoy the comb even better--it could work for combing and scalp massage a bit more comfortably. The comb/brush also comes with a pretty lined and embroidered bag. With some Tan Mujiang items I've been able to review in the past, the bag doesn't hold the entire brush. With this one, the brush fits inside completely! This is such a pretty and well-made item! I feel like Tan Mujiang combs and brushes are special works of art.
