HUGE TIME-SAVER and worth the investment no matter what volume
USE: Scooping popcorn into 1.5 oz. popcorn paper bags. MORE DETAILS: Our PTA works with the local movie theatre to offer Popcorn Friday as a fundraiser for the school. The PTA purchases huge bags of popcorn for a low price (probably leftover from Thursday night) and scoops it into 1.5 oz paper popcorn bags and sells them to students on Popcorn Friday for $1. This makes between $300-$400 once a month at the school.GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Scooper is study and well-made. Handles are heavy-duty plastic and each side will unscrew to make the profile smaller. It is large so you need some clearance to scoop the popcorn and then slide the bag over the end and turn vertical. Made to be used left or right handed. Popcorn falls easily into open bag. Works super fast and easy if bag is preopened, works well if bag is slightly opened at top, works the least well if bag is simply slid over the feed as you have to bounce everything to get the popcorn and gravity to open the rest of the bag. We have already ordered another one.SPECIFIC USE DESCRIPTION: I dumped huge bags of popcorn into a large cardboard moving box lined with Press N Seal--because it has to be food grade. I believe the large supply bags we get from the movie theatre will fill about 40-60 bagged 1.5 oz popcorn bags. I distributed six large supply bags to the other stations two--we work in stations with people scooping, stapling the bag shut, counting for class distribution, and then distribution. I believe it saved us an enormous amount of time, which is something I've been trying to accomplish since I started helping with Popcorn Friday. The PTA president bought my scooper and asked me to order another one.

Works well but it’s huge!
We bought this to use with our vintage style popcorn machine and load up bags to share. This thing is large and I think would work better as a McyDys French fry scoop. I know we’re not using it as intended but it still seems to be constructed well.

A bit wide for my need
While this would be absolutely a 5-star if I could get it in the size I need to get product off freeze dryer trays, this scoop (and all other scoops of the same design...not faulting this company) was about an inch too wide to fit the width of my trays. I ended up using the scoop perpendicular to the long side, which was a bit awkward. It is very sturdy and will handle quite a good amount of product, and even fits into the mylar bags quite well (the back end, the end which is supposed to go into fries or popcorn bags). Definitely, if I could get a scoop with a 6-1/2" front end, it would be ideal.

Works great! Love it! Double handle left or right handed works good. Just the right amount first time around

Perfect left handed scoop
High quality. Very sturdy. Easy grip handle. Use for popcorn, candy, cookies, homemade granola, scooping up fruit, frozen bits and pieces, freeze drying, etc…

Helpful for freeze drying
I recently purchased a large Harvest Right freeze dryer and this scoop fits perfectly in the trays. It makes it very easy to scrape freeze dried items out of the trays and funnel them into mason jars or Mylar bags. Depending on how fine the item is that I am working with, I sometimes have to add a little tape to close the gap between the top and bottom side sections to prevent things from falling out the sides. Overall this is super handy!

Stuff falls out the sides
I bought this for transferring things from my freeze dryer trays to Mylar bags. Except the food falls out the holes on the side. I can imagine fries would so the same. It’s good quality but design is flawed. Also looked like it had some rust forming when I got it. I returned it.

Cheaper quality
It works ok ! The handle is cheap one it and the steel is thin.

not my best purchase...
quality is reasonable but the sides are too small to keep items from overflowing while you try to funnel them into a container
