Not suitable for a dishwasher
I returned mine as the first time it went in the dishwasher it came out with a thin layer of black all over the bowl which left marks in the food

Looks good, easy to use but material at fault as leaves marks.
I have had to throw this item away, as every time I use it, it leaves a black film on the ice cream left in the tub. It is washed regularly, after use, and I rather hoped this problem would go after a few washes. However, it has not, and continues to leave my ice cream with black streaks! Obviously not good for presentation.

Not a good design IMO and not sure if it is 100% cleanable
I used to have a brilliant and simple ice cream scoop but it recently “disappeared” so I wanted to try this one.I was disappointed as soon as I saw it.It is described as stainless steel ( but also mentions aluminium in the description) but it is scratched, only slightly but it is scratched. Also it is a dull stainless steel not bright and shiny. in fact I later read that the head is made of aluminium. Then there is the mechanism to eject the ice-cream off of the scoop. Seems to be make of a hard plastic and should not really be necessary. All we ever did was dip the old scoop into hot water or pour a little hot water over the scoop. It will then release the ice cream very easily.Because I am concerned how efficiently will I be able to clean the space between the plastic “built-in ejector” and the scoop?Yes it is dishwasher safe but it worries me that the design is allowing there to be a space that cannot be 100% cleaned. The handle is the best part as it is comfortable to hold while you scoop. This item claims to be stainless steel and also aluminium in the description and I could find no mention of what kind of plastic the ejector part is made of.All things considered I would not buy this nor recommend it.
