Battery is OK, but the spot welded tabs are more or less un-solderable.
The battery cell itself is fine, but the solder tabs are conformally coated, or their metal alloy is simply not (easily) solderable. I have several years of experience with soldering of all types, I have done precision soldering for years, and know the standard soldering troubleshooting techniques, what a good solder joint looks like, etc. I have dealt with conformal coatings and enamelized wires, and this tab is none of those. I used a diamond dusted file to remove material to get down to (what I hoped) was copper underneath the tabs, but there was none to be found. I ended up having to use terrible technique to get this battery to stick. I globbed a TON of solder on the pads until it was domed (which is generally a no-no), and held the tab under the solder globs until the solder wicked over the tab. Note that the tab still is not mechanically joined to the solder. If you remove material, you'll see that the tab has no solder/tin coating. The battery itself is inexpensive, but I'd skip this one and go for a more expensive model with better tabs.

Works perfectly fine so far.
My original Sonicare Elite e9000 battery was near dead, it could only hold a care for a few hrs and like 2 brushings. No idea why Phillips designed their brush this way, but he instruction manual says you cannot replace the battery. You can indeed replace it just fine, but you have to desolder two places on the circuit board... a totally stupid design and they could have just as easily made it so you could slip in a battery without needing soldering. In fact, this is what I did. When I replaced the old battery with this new one, I didn't solder it back in, I just soldered in some little pieces of metal to use as contacts so next time I can just slip the battery out and slip a new one in. Took me only a few minutes, Phillips could have did this in the first place but they are such greedy corporate swine, they want you toss the whole thing, ruin the environment and buy a new one.Battery life is as follows in the tests i did with this; On an 8 hour charge, I was able to use the Sonicare elite brush 15 times, then it was empty. On a 16 hour charge, I was able to do about 32 brushings. So I would estimate, this battery would be about fully charged at 16 hrs.The actual manual says the original battery can do 2 weeks of use if you brush twice a day, which is 28 brushings in total. So this battery is on par with the original battery in time to fully charge, with the amount of brushings it can do.The manual says it requires 24hrs to fully charge the battery, and I think that's wrong, I think its likely fully charged in 16 hrs or less. I also disagree with it saying you should put it back on the charger each time you brush. I think this hurts the battery to be constantly be charged... it makes more sense to charge it up for a maximum of 16-18 hrs, then use it for at least 28-30 times, then charge it back up, instead of letting it cook the battery non stop, even when it doesn't need a charge. This is not a smart charger, it charges the battery constantly and I find it always warm to the touch so it makes no sense to leave it on there all the time. Although if you don't care about the health of the battery, you may want to leave it on there to always be sure there is enough power to brush, but the way i see it, you could just keep track of the amount of brushings and after at least 20 uses or so, toss it back on there for a day or so and then your good for another week or two.The actual amount of brushings may be slightly lower if i only used the original Sonicare heads. I was using a mix of original ones and some generic ones, and the generic ones vibrate a bit less strongly and may use a bit less power.I've only used this battery a couple weeks, so I have no idea how long it may last, but so far it seems great.
