Q: How much weight can the top hold (Large 42” version)? Can I put a 38lb air purifier on top?

We do not recommend putting anything on top of the Pet Gear Large 42" Steel Crate. It is a safety hazard and could cause the garage style front door to not function properly.

Q: Which one is the newer version, New Sage or Sage 2022?

I bought this in Feb 2022 and it was sage. New sage must be the older color.

Q: is the "garage" door lockable?

Yes, there are several slider plastic clips that lock into place as long as all the other clips are fastened properly the garage door acts as a wall in the locked position. However, it is easy to derail the garage door placing it in the down again mode and can become an ordeal getting it back on track.
