Haven't Scoped Out The Blu-Ray Quality Yet
I just want to say that I haven't watched any of the episodes on this Blu-Ray release, yet. I've owned two DVD collections of this live TV series, both were pirate copies of the collected edition of the DVD release, which was all I had access to until the release of this Discotek Blu-Ray Cutie Honey The Live. It's really nice to own a well printed and legit copy of this series, because the photo press work for this series was very nice to look at, upon the series release of this show, and the slipcase artwork, and the case cover work is really well done, with interior insert photography under the discs. It's very sharp and well presented, and Discotek has done an excellent five star job with the presentation. The show itself is pretty good. It's not as good as the live movie from 2004 with Eriko Sato as Honey, which was directed by Hideaki Anno. But what it does with the main casting of Honey, and the costume design is better in my opinion. The story is pretty well conceived as a series of about 26 episodes. It tells an arc of the Honey character who was created as one of three harbingers of either doom or creation. They play up the madness of Dr. Kisaragi, Honey's father and creator with this newer version. In previous incarnations Honey was originally Dr. Kisaragi's daughter who died in a car accident, driving Dr. Kisaragi to create the android version of his daughter, complete with as many memories as he could implant in her brain matrix. Sometimes Dr. Kisaragi was vaguely hinted at or shown very fleetingly, and this was the case in Re: Cutie Honey, and the complimentary 2004 film by Anno. Her uncle was featured in the 2004 film besides a flashback image of her father in the middle and end. Her father's "presence" was hinted at towards the end, holding her hand, encouraging her to live and love as a person. This series of the Live with Mikie Hara as Honey is different as she has no ties to her father except through the other two android components made by her father, named Miki and Yuki. These two new characters in the Cutie Honey mythos were created first, and are imperfect, leading to much drama and confrontation between the three of them. But with this, some funny moments and characters are allowed to enter the series and add their humorous mark on the world of Cutie Honey. The villains have always been cartoon characters, and this TV series was pretty well done at portraying a cartoon style live action. I'm pretty sure this is all thanks to films like Austin Powers and Kung Fu Hustle. Mikie Hara is my favorite live action Honey Kisaragi. She's sweet, innocent, and goofy. At times she can also be a little sad and tragic, which is another aspect of her orphan syndrome which translates with each iteration of Honey. I recommend this series, and even if a live action version of the original Transformation Glamour Girl isn't your thing, just getting a complete series release of this show, stateside with a good subtitle translation is a rare thing to happen, and it's got alot of great laughs, so snap it up before it's no longer available.

Risque fun!
An adult Tokusatsu show starring Honey! The show is fun to watch and the "fan service' is more silly than sexy. Perfect for any Toku nerd. Don't watch with kids around lol.

Honey in the flesh!!!!
Interesting live adaptation of one of my favorite animes. Very cool villains, lots of ecchi moments and funny plots. Now, if only tge Re-Cutie Honey anime gets a U.S release, that would make my day.

Another re-telling of Cutie Honey
Reimaging of the Cutie Honey origin, in a 26-episode series. Great story nonetheless. Episode 26 is a "special" with backstory missing from some of the other episodes-with Go Nagai as Dr, Kisaragi.Well worth the price of admission!
