Wooden Chinese Checkers Game - 11.75"

Great quality, easy to learn and a lifetime to master. Would recommend to anyone.

If amazon can please get the seller to change the title description that has 16mm to the actual size of the marbles, which is 14mm. I've attached a picture where on the left side is one of the red marbles included in the game and on the right side is a standard 16mm marble for comparison. It's worth buying for the great board - the reason I selected this one is because it had the white dashes between the holes to indicate the correct movement. So the only two problems are incorrect size marbles and poor quality of the marbles - one of them was chipped/damaged. I plan to replace all the marbles with better ones that are either 15mm or 16mm.

This is a pretty good set of Chinese Checkers. Based on my experience, I think the game works best with children aged 7+. It is a good game to practice counting and pre-planning your moves - a little bit like chess.The wooden game board is varnished and looks quite durable. The only slightly negative thing is that the holes are quite close together so some of the marbles are easily knocked over when you're picking up a marble to move.It also might be a good idea to place a rubber band around the box when you close it, because the lid of the box just pops off the top and the marbles can easily fall out.

The game is well made and contains all parts and arrived on time. However, I found the game to be much too small for grown up hands. Marbles are hard to grip and replace due to lack of space. Like most consumers, I am lazy and did not bother to grab a tape measure when I read the size parameters. Noticed the marble handling problem when setting up board for the first time and after all moves during the game. Made the game frustrating rather than enjoyable. Not well designed for adults, but great for kids who understand that marbles do not go in the mouth.

Have a 6 and 9 year old. 9 year old is playing chess and this bridges the gap between them. Pretty easy, but fun and great for several players. We use it every week.
