Happy to see a narrower weave - leaves should stay out
This is part one of a two-part review. I will post the second part following installation. When putting a healthy tension onto the netting with my hands, I can verify that the weave pattern leaves a small opening, just as described by the vendor. by my eye the opening while under tension is around a half-inch square. The netting is strong. I did "try" to rip the end with my hands, and was happy there was no tear. The netting comes with 24 stakes - just as described. For my koi pond, in past installations I don't have much luck with using stakes; no matter how hard I try to keep the net taut, the net ends up sagging and any accumulated leaves dip into my pond and get saturated. So, instead of staking a perimeter, I build a grid of 1 inch PVC with intermediary bracing. I'll take photos of my installed net as my part two review.Judging by out of box experience, I'm happy with this purchase. Five stars.** Part Two: The Installation **Please refer to uploaded pics:1) Arrange the PVC grid. In my case, the end pieces, where you see the three-way fittings that connect to the braces. are glued with PVC primer and cement. The braces are simply friction-fit. This approach allows me to disassemble and store the PVC pipe when not in use2) Once the grid is assembled, I span the diagonals with clothes line rope. I do this to give the structure a bit more structure beneath the net, as a means to keep the net from sagging into the water. I also thought the rope would help prevent the friction-fit pipes from slipping out.3) I have found that elevating the grid temporarily makes it easier to install the net with zip ties. Here I've used six cinder blocks4) Unfold the net and span the grid. Stake the net taut.5) Apply zip ties to secure the net to the PVC pipe. I have found that kneeling onto the taut net helps to keep it taut, when securing each zip tie.6) Trim the extra length of zip tie "tails"7) If you would like to remove extra length of net. go for it. you can see in my pictures that I had deliberately left the extra length coiled along the long length of the grid. I cut it off with sheers8) Move the grid over the pond. I have moved the grid without help before, but I do worry one of the pipes may slip out. So, if a helper's available, I go with that. Position along the long, glued ends and take your time9) Thank your helper. Give him a treat. My helper prefers milk bones - see pic :)I find that this grid helps a lot with keeping accumulated leaves from getting wet and sagging into the pool. I also like I can remove the grid - usually with a helper - so I can do maintenance. You can see I still have my waterfall pump underneath the grid. I like to store the pump during freezing weather, so I'll do that next month.Enjoy your leaf-free pond!

Heron hasn't been back since.
First week of having our Koi pond finished we walked out the door to a Blue Heron sitting there in our pond fishing for our Koi.Since I can't shoot the stupid thing, this is the next best option. Netting felt a bit frail after pulling it tight but it's kept the a hole out so it does the job.

catches the leaves

Had an 8 foot tear in it
After unrolling it in order to put it over our garden pond, found that it had about an 8 foot tear/cut in it. Because we were leaving town, we had to sew it up with monofilament line and use it anyway. Overall, it is much thinner and flimsier than netting we've previously bought from Amazon.
