Excellent control and looks the best out of the other fan controls
It does take batteries to control the fan. If I had enough wiring in the wall between the fan and light switch I would not need this device just a simple fan and light control. Like me, I only have a black and a white wire to the fan from the wall switch. The only way to magically fix my lack of wiring is to get this type of switch that powers the module in the ceiling allowing the module to electrically seperate the fan and the light circuit (no other way than to pull another wire). If changing the batteries every 8 years is all I have to do I'm good. It's cheaper than pulling extra wiring between the fan and wall switch. All these remote switches work the same way, the battery is controlling the remote control side of the switch just like a handheld remote. The hardwire feeds the receiver.Easy to install, looks great, and works perfectly. Remember to initialize the dimmer by holding down both arrows for the light with the fan and light off but power on, if not the lights won't dim properly. This sets it up.

Works great, love separate light up/ down buttons.
Works great, looks great. Note_ the remote uses batteries and only works with batteries. Device CAN be connected to electrical outlet wiring to turn power off or on; for the fan (or whatever you have connected to the outlet where you are installing this), using the button at the bottom of the unit, which is a mechanical switch. It still needs the batteries because the connection to electrical wiring is only as a convenience using the mechanical switch. It does Not use the AC power to run the remote. As to those who claim the dimmer does not work: the dimming feature can be Turned Off or On by pressing both light up and light down buttons together for a few seconds.Install is about the same as installing a light switch.I really like the separate light dimmer Up / Down button. Other remotes just have one button which you hold as it goes between min and Max light and back again.

Works with my Minimus perfectly.
Bought this to use with my 44" Low Profile Hunter Minimus and it works perfectly. Easy to install. Did not need to use the receiver that comes with it because it paired with the fan's built-in receiver. They should really sell this switch by itself since I imagine most people are buying these to use with Hunter fans. The only reasons it doesn't get five stars from me are 1) It needs batteries which will be a minor hassle to replace at some point 2) I had to search online to find directions on how to pair it with my fan, which in my case involved powering the switch off, waiting 5-10 seconds, powering it back on, and then holding down the light and fan buttons on the switch until the fan beeped. 3) No one wants a branded switch plate on their wall (I replaced with a regular wall plate), which means most of the wall plates included with these probably end up in a landfill along with the receiver I didn't need.

Works great without needing to install the fan controller.
UPDATE: The battery lasts a LONG time. It's been about a year now and I still haven't had to replace the batteries.ORIGINAL:This switch even works with the latest models of Hunter smart fans such as the Hunter Cavera Wi-Fi-Enabled fan that have their controller integrated inside and not a separate controller like other fans. In this case you don't need to install the fan controller that comes with this switch. You just need to insert the batteries into the switch, turn off the breaker to the fan, then turn on the breaker again, and within 3 minutes hold the light button and fan button simultaneously for a few seconds until you hear a beep. The switch is now paired to your existing Hunter fan. When pairing this switch as mentioned above, it will pair to all of your Hunter fans that we're turned on at the time of pairing. If you just want to pair to a single fan, then make sure the other fans are off during pairing.Your existing fan remote will still work even while this switch is working. If you made a mistake and want to Unpair (or reset) this remote, just hold in the light button and fan button simultaneously for a few seconds again and it will Unpair. You can just leave this switch on a table and use it as a remote. Or you can install it in any wall. It includes a little power button at the bottom which you can optionally hard wire into the original wiring in your wall so that the power button controls whatever the old switch was controlling. In other words, you could have an existing light switch that controls your bedside light, then you install a new fan without installing a switch tied to the fan, then you take this switch and swap it out with your bedside light switch. Now this switch's little power button at the bottom controls your bedside light while the rest of the buttons on this switch control your fan and fan light.Or you can just cut a new hole anywhere in your wall and insert this switch and cover plate without connecting it to any wiring. That's because this is a battery powered switch.

This installed easily, fit in a double gang box with another switch and faceplate with no issues. Also worked out of the box with no problems. Even when in close proximity to another unit I had installed in a different room.Note: the faceplate that comes with the unit is branded with the Hunter logo. So make sure to have an extra handy when you do the install.

Dual (Wall & Handheld) control of fan works great
This product Hunter 99375 provides both the wall mount switch/remote and a wireless fan controller.I did not need the wireless fan controller as my hunter fan (avia) already had its own wireless controller. There is a hunter 99373 wall switch only but it was more expensive for me then buying this kit on amazon. The wall switch provides both a master kill/power switch for the power provided to the fan controller. The wall switch also provides the remote control (wireless) of fan remot speed as well as light with dimming function. You will need to pair this remote with an existing wireless controller by holding both Fan & Light buttons simultaneously for a few seconds until pairing confirmed by the fan blinking its lights. This must be done within the first minutes of power applied to the fan controller.Product is down graded to 4 stars due to batteries required for the wall switch remote function (!). Why did not they build a power supply into the switch! Also the power button does not feel like the best quality so lifetime remains a question.Overall I am happy and would recommend this product. It gave us the functionality we were looking for to have independent control of the fan by either the wall remote or the bedside handheld remote.

Best Choice for Bedrooms
I did a lot of research when installing our ceiling fan in the master bedroom. I considered the options of having a remote control vs. an internet enabled "smart" control vs. this wall switch. I went with this wall switch for one important reason. It retains the ability to turn on the overhead light in a dark room when entering the room. This is the best option to preserve that important ability. If you've ever had a bedroom without an overhead light that you could turn on when entering, you can appreciate how important this is. The switch looks great, and installs fairly easily, with the challenge being interpreting the wiring of your current wall switch. I know that some years down the road it will be a small chore to replace the batteries. I used long-lasting lithium batteries to minimize this problem.
