Very good if...
you use the table of contents to find what you want (4 stars). Good (3 stars) if you read the whole thing. It is an interesting exploration of a critical and understudied area of psychology by an insightful woman.

Five *'s for conveying complex family dynamics easily.
As a student of Cloe Madanes' RMT programme which Cloe produces with Tony Robbins, I was already fully aware of the power of Cloe's strategic interventions and predisposed to rate it very highly.Reading this book did not disappoint. In a practical way it explains each point with case studies in which Cloe's strategic interventions are explained in the context of the whole family. This stuff appears to be obvious or just common sense but in reality it represents the application of Cloe Madanes's wisdom gained from a life time's experience as a leader in the field of family therapy, which makes this book unique. It's a great way to get a whole new perspective on one's own family dynamics, especially in relation to money..

I liked it.
I found it informative, sometimes taken aback by a very proactive therapeutic process, a no nonsense approach ready to challeng and confront which certainly appeared to achieve results. Perhaps without some therapeutic knowledge or experience it could be a bit challenging. The case studies were interesting and helpful.

A neglected subject and a useful treatment of it.
I got this along with some other books by Cloe Madanes because it was dealing with a subject that I have noticed is highly important in relationships, but is not often looked at by therapists. As with her book about violence, I thought it was useful and thought-provoking, but somehow lacking in some depth.
