Tough and Complete 1/4" drive set. Highly Recommended
Experience with the set:I have had this set for about 6 months. I am a full time heavy duty diesel and bus mechanic and use this set everyday with my 18v and 12v 1/4 impact drivers. I can't say enough about them. This set is as complete as a 1/4 set comes and they are durable. They take on a lot more than I expected them to. I frequently use the larger sizes with an impact instead of stepping up to my 3/8 drive set.Quality and Finish:The coating on the sockets and the markings look very nice and superior to craftsman or lesser brands of sockets. There are some blemishes on a couple of the sockets and two of the sockets have abnormally small holes in between the drive side and the fastener side preventing them from sitting correctly on my Hansen socket trays. Other than that (and for most people not using these trays) they are 10 steps above most socket sets, especially considering the affordable price. While these are not snap-on quality, they serve their purpose extremely well and cost a fraction of the price.Bottom Line:I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SOCKET SET TO ANYONE, including the professional mechanic or technician. I love this set and will most likely buy another for home. Anyone wondering if they are worth the money......please stop. They are worth every penny. Buy these things and don't look back.

Review after 6 years - highly recommended
I paid $59 for this in 2015. I have used it many times for smaller projects, on my motorcycle etc. In brief, this is very good quality, and at that price, this is a steal.I normally buy high-end German tools that cost many times more, and even when keeping that standard in mind, this is a good set. Obviously it's not as nice as a Stahwille at 8x the price, but in all the parts that matter it comes very close. The good:The ratchet is well made and feels precise. It has a lot of teeth which is convenient when you don't have a lot of space to work with. The sockets are precise and the size is stamped, so it won't wear off. The chroming is done well and does not flake off. The set is arranged logically in the box and has all the parts and sizes that you'd expect from a set like this. The so-so:The only part in this set that isn't great is the red "thumb ratchet". The ratcheting action isn't as smooth as the one on the normal ratchet, and it has quite a bit of play. The blow-mold case is decent but not awesome. Things do not move out of place when it is closed, but it is a bit rattly, the live hinges won't last forever, and the size markings are hard to read because they're black-on-black.The bad:I can't find anything bad about this set.

Well worth the money
I've been working in the automotive industry for the past eight years. Recently I've been doing a lot of side work in my own garage and I was getting tired of hauling my tools from work to home every night. Decided I wanted to find some quality tools that I can just leave in the garage and after asking the other tech's in the shop what they used at home I started looking into the gear wrench brand.I use my snap-on sockets at the shop and I love them, but there was no way I was going to spend another $400 for a 1/4 socket set. This gear wrench set works perfect, includes all the sizes both short and deep needed for a 1/4 set and I am very satisfied with them. I also bought the 3/8 6 point socket set and am equally satisfied with them as well. Gear wrench makes a quality product with all of the function and features and the big brands at a quarter of the price.Somewhere down the road if one of these sockets gets stripped or breaks I will test their lifetime warranty and see how easy it is to get a replacement, but from what I hear they stand by their products 100%.Buy with confidence.

Quality for less!
This is truly a good set of sockets for the home mechanic to have. I don't turn wrenches for a living but even if I did, this would still be the set. I've owned and broken many poor quality wrenches and poorly made tools in my days so I know a thing or two about quality; but I'm not going to spend a fortune on these other brands. If money is not an issue to you, then go with the more expensive brands - you know who they are! I've used these to break some of the most stubborn bolts without it showing any signs of weakness due to poor quality. Let me also mention how handsome it looks, too! I also like how the SAE and METRIC have different markings on them, making it easy to distinguish when you're putting them away. It's not all that important but it is a nice touch and how thoughtful on Gearwrench's part. The rachets operate smoothly and feels very solid. It would be nice to have the quick release mechanism on the rachets and and a handle on the case but I can live without.

I own them all.
I've already done reviews on these socket sets in the 1/2" and 3/8" sizes. I own six sets. The 6 pt and 12 pt in all three sizes. That is how much I like these tools. The quality is excellent and I like the wrenches better than my vintage Craftsman and newer Craftsman wrenches. What else can I say? These are great tools and a good value for the money. I've quickly become a fan of Gearwrench tools and have recently purchased their combination wrenches as well.

As always a nice set from Gearwrench
I haven't found a bad product from Gearwrench. I am currently a mechanic for Uhaul but I got these because I am planning on changing my career to be an electrician. I would recommend checking immediately to see if you have duplicate sockets as I have seen this in some gearwrench set but not this one. The blow mold case seems to hold up fairly well but some sockets had come loose in the case during shipping. Not fond that the case was not plastic sealed as most gearwrench sets are but I am happy with the quality of this set.

Superb set
Best 1/4" drive set I have owned. This is my 3rd set, 1 for car, 1 for work and 1 disappeared.
