Outside, this heavyweight Hanes Ultimate Cotton Crew fleece sweatshirt is cotton-rich for breathable comfort. Inside, it's pure plush cotton for soothing softness.

Buyer Beware! False advertising by the seller regarding the actual fabric content percentage!
I was looking for a heavy sweatshirt with a high cotton content. The description of this sweatshirt says that it is a Heavyweight Ultimate Cotton and has a 90% Cotton / 10% Polyester fabric content. It also received many positive reviews. I saw only one reviewer who mentioned that the sweatshirt they received had only a 65% Cotton / 35% Polyester content. So I posted the question to previous buyers on this site as to exactly what fabric content they had actually received vs. what is advertised... and again they (including the seller) responded and assured me that it was was indeed 90% Cotton /10% Polyester. Then why does the tag on the sweatshirt I received clearly say that the content is 65% Cotton / 35% Polyester? Isn't that a bit of bait & switch? Maybe they should include "Fabric Content May Vary" in the description.

A $6 Walmart sweatshirt for $17
I'm not even sure why they can call this thing a sweatshirt since it's actually thinner many T-shirts I own. To call it "heavyweight" is a crime against the language. I kind of figured this going in since a decent or cotton sweatshirt now costs 70-100 dollars, still the specs on it made me give it a try but I believe the specs are not telling the truth. The label says 90% cotton 10% polyester but I have been wearing clothes my whole life and I am pretty sure this is not a 90% cotton garment. It does not feel, smell, wash, breath nor wear like one. Honestly I think I mixed up Hanes with Champion when I ordered the thing because I never buy Hanes. They make the underwear were the elastic is dead and wavy after two washings and the socks that get holes the first time you wear them. In my mind they were literally synonymous with dollar store quality.I haven't even washed the thing yet and I'm deciding if I want to bother returning it.My standard for sweatshirts is a brand that Nordstroms used to carry called a Non-Fiction by Tiger Brand. They were the finest most comfortable or cotton sweatshirt I've ever worn and they were so heavy that when you picked one up you felt like you were picking up a leather coat. Towels would be dry before these things in the dryer they were so thick in wearing one was like wrapping yourself up in angel wings. They were cheap but but I knew what I was getting so it's time to take a chance with these new brands. Cotton Mill, Justsweatshirts, and Polartec. These are the only ones I found that are 100% cotton and they come in pretty heavy at 18 and 20 oz weave. I think the Non-Fiction were 22 ounces . There's another sweatshirt I found but they're ribbing is 6 inches wide and not my style. And of course you can go to various designer sweats and pay upwards of $500 for a freaking sweatshirt. But stay away from Hanes, it's garbage .

NOT 90% COTTON NOR HEAVYWEIGHT
HEY AMAZON, if you have many, multiple reviews that show your FALSE DESCRIPTION, WHY DON'T YOU EITHER CHANGE THE WEB DESCRIPTION WHICH SAYS 90% COTTON OR SELL A SWEATSHIRT THAT IS 90% COTTON. As you can see this flimsy (does not seem heavyweight) sweatshirt is 65% cotton and 35% polyester. YUCK! I am leaving Nashville, TN in TWO DAYS to fly to LONDON, ENGLAND. I would have liked to have A 90% COTTON SWEATSHIRT. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! The elastic neckline is very weak and seems flimsy. I don't have time to deal with a return but I don't think its going to London.

Disappointed because this was meant to be a gift for ...
Out of the packaging I was a little shocked because this sweatshirt had NO TAGS . Disappointed because this was meant to be a gift for my boyfriend who is a fan of the Hanes products.I also had noticed some inconsistencies in the color of the fabric, slight discoloration in the chest area.Hate to say, but I gotta return this item

Not all colors are the same
For those posting reviews saying the sweatshirt is falsely advertised, they clearly didn’t read the item description (see my photo). The description says that some colors will be less cotton than the 90%. If you order a grayish color, expect this. It’s very common for many brands to make their grey shirts less cotton. I ordered a white and navy crew neck and they’re both 90/10.

65/35 is to "plasticky" for me - I hate any article of clothing with that much polyester or ...
Here are the con's and pro's about this item:1. Advertised as 90% cotton / 10% poly. Actual item is 65 cotton / 35 poly. Two stars off for this. Been looking for a 100% cotton sweatshirt or something close, and figured I'd try 90/10. 65/35 is to "plasticky" for me - I hate any article of clothing with that much polyester or other fake material in them.2. Advertised as heavyweight...really? It's far from it. By comparison to a 3 year old washed out Authentic Pigment true heavyweight cotton sweatshirt, this one is a little more than half as thick (and that's comparing to a well used & washed sweatshirt!) One star off for this.3. Color is accurate per the image (we got the charcoal heather one).4. Fit seems to be right on. Bought large; I like my sweathshirts a bit baggy but not so big as a trash bag. I normally wear medium for regular shirts so the fit is good.5. Price...can't complain that...$9 shipped with our Prime membership. Though I'm not pleased with it, my wife decided she wants it, so we're not going to return it.

XL fits OK but it's not the heaviest "heavyweight fleece" sweatshirt
Nice enough sweatshirt. It's not the heaviest "heavyweight fleece" sweatshirt, but heavier than standard. I usually buy XL because I like it to fit a little bit loose (6'0", 165 lbs) and this one fits about the same as most of the XL's that I own. The nicest "heavyweight" sweatshirts I ever found were from THE GAP about 10 or 15 years ago, but I've never found any that nice after 2003 or so. Long gone. This Hanes one is about the best I can find in today's lower-quality market.

Great product. Excellent standard fit. Deep unfading colour.
Great sweatshirt. Nice deep black. Fits true to size, and is a bit roomy as you would expect the style to be. Excellent quality. Washes well and has kept it’s deep black when washed with “dark detergent”, and hung to dry. Can’t speak to whether or not it shrinks because I don’t put clothing in the dryer. Happy with purchase. For reference I am 6’1” tall, 215 lbs, broad shouldered and muscular. The sleeves are the perfect length, the body length comes just below belt level, and the neck is neither wide nor tight, the roomy part is in the body which fits like a standar fit rather than an athletic fit.

FALSE AND DECEPTIVE DESCRIPTION
don't believe the description, it is suppose to be 90% cotton but it is really 65%. I could have gone to Walmart for less $$$$ for similar product
