Great Yoto player
Kids love it, it’s been reliable for nearly a year now with no issues. It’s sturdy, and has a Matt finish so easy to clean/dust. The light on the back when you lay it down is the perfect brightness for a bed time light, the pictures presented on the front screen when a card is placed in helps encourage imagination for each chapter. With the associated app you can set alarms, times for automatic Yoto radios and so on. The light colours can be changed for vibes etc. Would highly recommend to any story loving children.

Kids love it!
Both kids love it, gets loads of use daily and a really great selection of cards suitable for different age groups. You would probably want to get a yoto jacket when you purchase for drop protection.

Broke within days, poor quality!
I have to start by saying the idea of the player and cards is brilliant, my boys loved it. Sadly within a couple of days my son sadly dropped the player only from his hands and a piece broke off which left a sharp edge making it dangerous for little hands. The customer service was very hard to deal with flatly saying it was my fault and after consulting with another department I got the amazing advice of use sellotape.Yes it was my fault, but seriously something like this made for small children should be made to withstand a bump, In my opinion it is of poor quality and not fit for children. After several emails I was offered 30 percent off a new Player but they could not assure me the same thing wouldn't happen again. I opted to use the discount on a carry jacket. Hopefully this will help.Just so other parents are warned, be very careful your children handle these with care as they can easily break and you will be left with a very expensive paperweight.

Awesome device which is so worth it!! 😍😍
I am honestly so pleased I decided to get this device, its brilliant, and I'll explain why. There is lots of choice in the library, which regularly gets updated with new stories, including some favourites like Roald Dahl, Disney, Horrid Henry, and Marvel. Some books are even read by celebrities like Joanna Lumley, David Walliams, and Richard Ayoade. The player has lots of additional features as well, like a nightlight, a in-built radio, daily podcasts, pictures on the screen as audio is played and all the cards are easy to use and durable. The nightlight and radio are great features that reduces the need for different things on a desk or table.Another bonus - this player can also be set up to play custom cards, which means that kids aren't limited to the player library, unlike a lot of storyteller devices, and be used as a Bluetooth speaker. The sound quality is pretty good, although the speaker can become crackily if too loud, but the speakers are loud enough to not have on loud anyway. Battery life is fairly long, but probably will need charging regularly.Parents may like to know that the device will not get overcharged if accidentally left on the base charger, as it can live on charging base, which is a well thought out idea, and means the charger can be used as a stable base for the player. There is a free companion app that goes along with the player as well, which means that the stories played on the player can be listened to on the go. It can also be used to control the colour of the nightlight, limit on headphone volume, keep an eye on battery level and more.Cards are available through the library and the official online store, plus some may be available on Amazon and other places. There is also a sleeve available on the official website, which will protect the device when out and about. A miniature version of the device is available if parents and kids would like a portable storytelling device. The device gets regular updates and features added to both app and player too, which means feedback about the player and app is taken on board. Customer support is also very good, as I had trouble with getting mine online, but was easily fixed thanks to customer support. It's an awesome device, and one of the best out there for devices that don't require a screen. The additional features and how well designed the player is make it very worth while.Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an all in one listening gadget! 5 stars out of 5!

Great functionality, horrible sounds quality
I can compare those product in two ways, against two groups of products, given my experience in both:1. As a bluetooth speaker - only the worst of chinese speakers you manage to get for 10 euro (including shipping) off aliexpress would sound this badMy Anker soundcore 3 (50 Euro) sounds 5 times better. For a smaller asking price.2. As a kids media solution - I have a Tonie Box. That other solution is nice in that it is padded on all but one of its 6 sides. It is also a hell of a lot lighter than the Yoto. For that reason it comes across as a lot more robust. I'm not at all afraid for the Tonie Box when it goes bouncing around the room. The Yoto? Errr... Yes I'm scared. Time will tell, i guess! On the other hand, it's a lot easier to control the Yoto. Switching songs. Changing volume. Just a twist of a dial. Changing to the next song on the Tonie often sends it flying off the table (again, good thing it's super robust) since you've got to wack it on one side or another. Do that multiple times if you don't want the next song. No screen either to tell you where you are. With the Yoto you can choose by number. Great! Volume changing on the Tonie is a squeeze of the ear. I can do it, but my kids have had troubles with it. The Yoto, again, it's just a twist of a knob. All in all, for it's purpose, and it's less picky target audience, it's great. But, i think it's a bit cheap and cheeky putting such bad quality speakers and/or amp in it.... The adults have to listen to it too! Often over and over again! It would be nicer if the sounds quality wasn't something to wince over. But, well, the competition isn't much difference.
