Doctor Who - The Collection - Season 14 [Standard Edition]

This is regarded as one of Tom Bakers finest seasons, for me I think its alright but wouldn't go overboard like most fans. In this season we say goodbye to Sarah Jane Smith Smith in Hand of Fear, see a gruesome looking Master not played by Roger Del Gado who was sadly killed whilst away doing a film and we say hello to Leela the Savage played by Louise Jameson who was most certainly brought in to get the dads of the nation watching in her first story The Face of Evil. The two stand out stories for me are Hand of Fear and The Robots of Death. There is a lovely tribute called Our Sarah Jane and when friends and family are talking about her life it's very moving specially when you watch Tom Baker talk and look at a couple of clips he starts to break down at knowing he will never see his friend again. There are certain tardis teams that stand out and the relationship between Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen was certainly one that alot of fans hold dear to their hearts. As I mention on the season 8 boxset everything is the same as the limited editions except the slimmer case and smaller booklet but if your a fan of this season and didn't manage to get hold of the bigger limited edition than this is for you

The Blu-ray was in a very good condition

Doctor Who- The Collection really does stand out in value for money. Great quality audio and vision on the stories and an amazing set of extras and bonus material on every set. An absolute must for every Doctor Who fan!. These standatd editions are cheaper than the deluxe versions but only differences are simpler packaging and a smaller sized booklet.

All these sets are terrific value for money - even if they had just the stories they would be worth the money. But we have all the extras from the DVD releases plus new ones such as the Behind The Sofa series which I'm finding addictive for all the sets (Pertwee through McCoy). Enjoy!

The one thing about all the early Doctor Who that annoys me is the change in quality of location recordings, that is really a pity. Otherwise it's a lot of fun and nostalgia. On occasions I wonder if it's worth the time watching all the extras. You CAN be too complete. Loved it!

Good season 14 Blu Rays box set.

One of the best seasons of doctor who, forget the creaky special effects, its the stories, acting and pure nostalgia, Tom Baker at his best.

Has Tom ever been better than in this season? Surely the epitome of Who. A classic in every sense and the extras are beautiful.

Le storie sono belle e la recitazione da parte dei bravissimi attori inglesi è davvero superba !! E poi Tom Baker è il " Doctor who " più bravo e divertente fra tutti quelli che si sono succeduti negli anni .... opinione personale ovviamente . Purtroppo la qualità video non e' un gran che per essere un blu ray ... la definizione è più vicina a quella di un dvd che a quella di un moderno 1080 full HD ... Insomma nessun miglioramento video davvero concreto rispetto a un tipico dvd dalla definizione standard di volti e sfondi .... . L'audio è solo in inglese con sottotitoli solo in inglese ... quindi se cercate l'audio in italiano resterete delusi ! Gli extra sono tantissimi e di ottima qualità per soddisfare tante curiosità su questa stagione . Se volete ripassare il vostro inglese divertendovi è perfetto ! Felice di averlo preso .. perché amo la fantascienza degli anni 70 ... peccato per la qualità video appena sufficiente e la mancanza della lingua italiana .... ma un doppiaggio ex novo in italiano delle stagioni degli anni 70 di doctor who è davvero impossibile ?

Great series, Tom Baker is the best Doctor!

Classic Doctor at Tom Baker's best.Great dialogue (between the Doctor an everybody else) is wonderful, and the introduction of Leela during this season, dressed (just) specifically to encourage BBC Sports viewers to stay tuned after the broadcast of the football results on a Saturday evening, provided a different dynamic to the Doctor/Assistant pairing, with a companion who could (and did) dispatch opponents with deadly force.
