SIL-Eco Non-Stick Silicone Baking Liner, Half Sheet Size, 11-5/8"" x 16-1/2"" (2-Pack)

I took a leap of faith, based on the track record of the manufacturer. I am delighted with this product! The quality of these silicone mats is equal to, or even exceeds, the "Made in France" mats that I purchased +8 years ago from an upscale kitchen store. I use them only for baking, and they have maintained their pristine condition. I would not bake without a silicone mat; it completely changed my baking results. I recently purchased several additional half-sheet pans in preparation for Holiday baking. Amazon's price for a set of two half-sheet mats is exceptional! To duplicate my original mats (brand name begins with "M"), I would have to pay +$27 each. I can't tell the difference in the weight, size, or appearance. I am confident that these mats will serve me well. Be aware, however, that these mats are sized for a true half-sheet pan; they are slightly big for my large standard cookie sheets.

I cook and bake extensively. I've only purchased the regular orange Demarle Silpats before, but I couldn't pass up trying these for the price. I bought these to use for roasting meats, vegetables, and other non-baking applications so that I could save my "good" Silpats for baking. I honestly can't tell a difference in quality. Maybe these won't hold up as well as my others down the road, but so far they've done beautifully. I haven't experienced any staining or discoloration. I will still probably keep these separate from my baking mats so I don't risk any flavor transfer, but I don't see a reason why you couldn't use for either purpose.

DON'T KNOW HOW I EVER GO ALONG WITH OUT IT

I adore this liner for baking cookies, baking jelly-rolls, roasting vegetables and anything else that I would have used parchment for in my oven. I use it with Polar Ware 3614 13x18 (1/2 sheet) pans. Unfortunately these pans are no longer available for purchase. The interior dimension is exactly 11-5/8"x16-1/2" which is what this liner is specified as.Again, this liner measures 11-5/8"x16-1/2". It will work great for a half-sheet pan that has this surface measurement. It is a little too small for the USA Pan 1/2-sheet pan (B00282JL7G) and a little too large for the Nordic Ware 1/2-sheet pan (B0049C2S32). Most of the negative reviews were from mismatched pan sizes.I follow the instructions on the box for care and store the liner rolled up in the box when not in use. It is REALLY IMPORTANT to pay attention to how you care for this item if you want it to last. Mine is a little over 10 years old and gets used once or twice a week. The only sign of use is a slight discoloration that was caused by turmeric if I recall correctly.The most important care instructions are:Never cut on the liner or scratch it. You are best off to just keep anything sharp away from it. Several of the bad reviews were caused by cutting it.Never uses an abrasive pad to clean it. I've never had anything stick to it that didn't come off after a few minute soak in hot soapy water and a wipe with a sponge. I've had cheese baked onto it and it simply popped off after a quick soak.This is seriously a great buy. I cannot even say how much aluminum foil or parchment that this has replaced over the last decade and I fully expect it to continue to work for the decades to come.
