Used the wire to run from a battery in the back of my boat to a new depth finder on my dash.

I used this to wire up a 12V electric switch on my tractor. Worked great! Product was exactly as described.

I'm sure the wire is fine, I am using in my new boat and am beyond aggravated to have paid a premium price for good wire and received white and black wire instead of the industry standard of Red and Black as pictured. I don't want to go through the aggravation of sending it back. I did expect more from my home state of Missouri and a made in USA product. I did say a cuss word or two or three.

The gauge rating is honest and in fact using my good quality USA made automotive wire stripper, the kind that has different strips for different wire gauges, I have to move up to a size 10 to strip the insulation off and not take wire strands, so I believe that this is true marine spec 12 gauge. I mention this because lots of wire I find these days made internationally has very thick insulation over under-spec wire gauge. This wire seems honestly rated!The tinning is a marine wire requirement, and it's there. It takes solder very easily. It's nice flexible wire and the insulation and jacket is thick and well formed.The roll I received was a full 15' exactly, no more no less.This wire will serve as the backbone of wiring a fish finder and navigation lights for a small 14' aluminum skiff and I'll be happy to be using proper marine grade wire and components for the work.I'm fairly stingy with 5 star reviews. I only give 5 stars to a product that has exceptional quality features, exceptional value for the retail price, or both. This is good wire and fully to spec but nothing earth-shattering in value, function, or form so I'm going to give it 4 stars. If you need good quality marine wire, this is it and the value is fair.

Summary: Ordered this marine grade (double jacket) cable to use with some solar panel (to replace the low cost, insufficient grade wires).  When it comes to electric power, generally the bigger the cable (lower AWG) the more efficient.Observations: Marine environments are notoriously tough, especially on wire, which is subjected to salt water, as well as ultraviolet (UV) from sunlight.  Previously Vine reviewed quite a few wire/cable offerings, and for most of the lower cost CHINA offerings, the jacket degrades after just a few weeks being in the outdoor weather 24/7.Recommendation: Along with the largest wire, you should also go with the shortest for your applications.Pros: Heavy duty, 12AWG marked.Cons: Cost (more expensive than the China offerings, but generally well worth it); Gateway Wire only has one other cable offering (non-specialty manufacturer).Conclusion: At $30 for 15ft ($2.00/foot/pair), rating this 4-stars for now (cost, non-specialty manufacturer). I will update this review after this cable has been left outdoors for a month.

This wire is the real deal! It's made in the USA and very high quality. I can't tell you how often I've been disappointed with buying wire off Amazon only to find out that it's not as described. Usually it's got a cheap, flimsy, stiff jacked and undersized conductors. Not so with this wire. The jacket seem very durable and abrasion resistant. Very flexible and easy to route. The conductors are a true 12 gauge and tinned as described. This wire is perfect for automotive or marine use or anywhere where it may be exposed to moisture. Very satisfied with this!

I'm replacing some of the old wires on my boat. This wire came as advertised. 12G heavy-duty, no weak spots in the 15 feet of wire, sheathing is all intact with no breaks or cuts. The wire is extremely flexible which will make getting it from one end to the other of my 18-foot boat a lot easier. The wire is a little more expensive than others, however, Gateway is a company owned and operated in the US, and this wire seems to be of higher quality than the cheaper wire I've tried. I'd much rather spend the extra couple of dollars on a product of higher quality that is made here at home. It's too cold for me to get the install done right now, but will update when it warms up.
