This is a combined work of all Elisabeth Elliot's journals of her quiet time. I really enjoy having this book because it helps me with my own quiet time. Each entry is short yet full of things to meditate upon; the things written are about daily trial, Christian faith, the fruit of the spirit, struggles with the world and everything that Christians will experience in one way or the other. I recommend this book along with the Holy Bible; read this in the morning and it will help you to set your focus on God right from the beginning, which may be encouraging for you throughout your day. Psalm 119:9 "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word." Dear Christian readers, grow spiritually, abide in Him, produce fruits through His grace, and let our conducts be different from the world.Another Elisabeth Elliot's book I would like to recommend is called "The Music of His Promises"

I had been hoping to get a copy of this book by Elisabeth Elliot for some time, as it is mostly out of print. The picture being displayed is not the one I got, but one older, with the original title 'A Lamp For My Feet', and the picture on the cover is of an aladin style oil lamp (very quaint) but I am totally thrilled to have it! It is a used copy but in very good condition and I received it promptly from the reseller. I keep it by my bedside table right next to my bible and refer to it at least once a week now. Elisabeth Elliot is timeless and her devotions written over three decades ago are just as fresh and real today as when she compiled them for print back then.As far as I am concerned this purchase is priceless.

What can I say? I have high expectations when I come to Elisabeth Elliot's writings, and I was not disappointed. I began reading this devotional just after my husband died. It was amazing how so many of them applied specifically to things I was going through, even though they did not touch on the issues of death at all.If you are going through a rough time and just want encouraged to keep your focus in the right direction from someone who has been there, this is the devotional for you.I gave my hardcover copy to my daughter-in-law and bought the Kindle edition for myself. The Kindle version is quite readable, though the headings could be a bit smaller. Otherwise, no problem reading it.

Elisabeth Elliot has such a wonderful way with words to describe God’s truths for our lives. Each day has something to challenge us and encourage us.

.Elisabeth Elliot is certainly qualified to write a book such as this because of her faith and the trials and tribulations that she has endured. We can glean the wisdom that she has gained through her steadfast faith in times of trouble simply by reading her book in correlation to the scriptures. This makes this book a priceless treasure to us, worth so much more than the price of the book in any format.

I loved it. It is pure gold for our souls and minds. Elisabeth Elliot thougths really make me evaluate myself in the presence of my Lord. Beautiful book!!

The content in this devotional is excellent, as is most of Elisabeth Elliot’s work. However, the format of this particular book is poorly done. I prefer the entire daily devotional be found on one page, not part of it on one page, with the remainder on another page. It makes reading it choppy and is not pleasing to the eye. I could handle one or two pages like that, but unfortunately, it is consistently formatted in this odd layout. While I would recommend the devotional content, I would recommend finding a different publisher, if there is one.

Her teaching is relevant for women today.

I love Elisabeth Elliot, a Godly Woman who lived what she preached. Short daily devotions which are encouraging and thought provoking.

Elisabeth Elliot is a real person, with real needs, but a very godly spirit! I was challenged daily with her wisdom.

Well written and insightful. It seemed most days that the devotion was written specifically for me! Highly recommend this book!
