An actual inkless pen uses an alloy to create a chemical reaction on paper resulting in a permenant mark without residue or breakdown. I am 80% sure this "inkless pen" is just extra hard graphite.I go through a lot of pens at work and was hoping for something that 1) wouldn't stain my clothes if left open 2) would be easily deployable from my pen pocket 3) writes neatly and clearly and 4) lasts longer than a regular ink pen.1) it does not stain or smudge easily. That is nice2) I was looking for one with a clip on the pen, but this is so cumbersome and not securely seated with the cap that it is not pleasant to take out and put away repeatedly/quickly. I also is not well designed for holding3) Writes neat/clearly for the first few sentences, then the tip starts to deform and wear away. Much like a fine tipped pencil4) After one shift with what I would consider a moderate amount of writing, I have visible deformity and moderate wearing to the tip. It does come with several replacement tips thoughAll in all, it's a fun gimmick but I'll just use a regular pen for now instead. Good value since you get three pens and several replacement tips though

Pencil works great and came with an extra supply of lead tips, but there was no eraser included like the description stated.

Ive seen many like this product and was skeptical at first. I am an artist and the worst part is stopping to either sharpen a pencil or refill a mechanical pencil. This inkless pencil is perfect and it even works with shading, erases perfectly and is ideal for sketching. Its has the quality of about a number 2 or 2h pencil so it is on the lighter side of going down on paper but for quick light sketches it’s ideal. For something darker im grabbing a 4b pencil instead.

Not sure how far the point will wear down and still be functional.CONS:Eraser must be finger held as there seems to be no holder for the eraser.Pencil marks is not dark. Minimally acceptable pencil mark.Pencil feels a little too slick.PROS:Hopefully will stay functional and usable in my car as the only writing instrument.

I agree with other reviewers - these are very light. Will work for me for sketching before painting - very difficult to see if trying to sketch over a painted background (watercolor)

the idea is great to have the grooves for grip however, to correct mistakes it is easier to just have a separate eraser.

They are good pencils, but I wish they would write darker.

A leadless pencil sounds great in theory but unfortunately this product leaves a lot to be desired. The shape and weight is fine but the eraser isn't useful the way it is stored in the body and then there is the "lead" itself. It is not smooth and feels like you are scratching on the paper and it is so faint it is hardly legible. Very dissatisfied and disappointed
