The book is more interesting in terms of what you can understand about the various authors and the way that they look at India, and not at what India actually represents.

A review of Sanscrict through ancient Indian religious writings. A very limited audiance. To an audiance of English Colonial Officers. Very dated

Please read it, little difficult to interpret but worth the efforts. I recommend it for every Indian as well those interested in India.

An interesting set of lectures - however, they are characterised by a tone that is patronising and the bias of Max Mueller is already visible here. In these lectures in today's language many politically incorrect statements abound. Interesting but not that informative.

As an Indian myself , I found most of the topics discussed here are interesting and thought provoking. The perspective from which the author has described India as a culture, as a land is indeed refreshing. But I would like to point out that this is like India atleast 200 years ago.. But still worth a read
