Loved this! Would recommend to others! CAN play on Windows 10!
Wonderful! Turned out I didn't need to customize my computer to play it like I thought I would! Just installed it and away I went! I have Windows 10 and this played smoothly and like a charm! I loved this and spent many more hours playing this just like I did in my childhood. :DIf someone is having difficulty playing this on their Windows 10 here are the instructions I got from somebody else but ended up not needing to use at all.---After you install it this is what you do:1.go to "computer"2."program files(x86)"3."knowledge adventure"4."dino3d"5. find the file "dino3d" and right click it6. go to "properties"7. change the "compatibility mode" to windows 8\78. click "run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"9. click "apply" :)----It was quite fortunate that I was able to run it as it was because when I tried to follow the instructions I COULD NOT find out how to change the screen resolution on that because the only thing it gave me as options was "small screen" or "full screen" instead of 640 x 480 (or other screen resolution numbers) I kid you not. Heck I don't think I even have the compatibility mode for windows 8/7 on there. It still runs like a charm! :DIn case it doesn't run automatically for you like it did for me, I hope the instructions I got above would help you. :)Have fun! :D

My childhood brought to my kids
This game is in every way the exact game I used to play as a kid! Find eggs, earn hatching crystals, and explore the different dinosaurs, plants, insects, and more. My kids love this game as much as I did! Playing was as simple as putting the disc in and installing it. So thrilled with this purchase!

Problems with Windows 7 RC
This game installs well, wants to know you name and email but works without actually registering with an open Internet connection. However, the graphics are not working well on Windows 7 RC. Dinosaurs would have color bleed of pixellated greens and reds in the middle of the body, the sky and background suddenly start having this color problem and not related to the amount of motion involved in that particular sequence of screenplay. Something about DirectX 11 of Windows 7 RC? Just guessing. By the way, OpenGL was functioning perfectly at full speed (Furmark 6000) when I observed this.

Great fun for small kids
I bought this along with several other kids' CD-ROM games when I decided to get a PC for my kids (2 and 3). This was one of the older titles and has pretty crude graphics by today's standards, so I didn't have the highest initial opinion of it. But over the months it has become the kids' clear favorite. There are lots of games that even my 2-year-old, with very rough mousing skills, can master (BoneBuilder is his favorite). My 3-year-old has covered all the areas of the game but keeps coming back, she has shown no signs of getting bored of it. I think at that age there is still a high tolerance for repetition?Anyway, for the low price tag, this is a sure winner for smaller children.

Junk
My 5 year old son loves dinosaurs and using the computer, I thought this would be a great gift. He was beyond excited when he opened this for his birthday. Though to our HUGE disappointment, the program is JUNK! Our computer(s) are equipped with the correct systems to run it. It wouldn't load properly to download and kept coming up with "tit failure" on the screen. I'm glad I didn't spend to much on it. Unfortunately I didn't keep the shipping receipt or I would have sent it back. Don't waste your money.

A Very Educational Game
We bought this game for our 4-year old boy to give him a plain old "fun" game for his PC. He has 3 other games that are purely educational (yet fun) - Jump Start Spanish, Reader Rabbit Phonics, and Blue's Clues 1-2-3 - so we thought he should have some old-fashioned fun. This game is much more educational than we anticipated. Although it is chock-full-of-games, we have been impressed with the level of detail in the artwork, and the fact that our son is able to rattle off the names of several dinosaurs, AND tell you whether they eat meat, plants, etc.The underlying story behind the games (collect dinosaur eggs to save the island from T-Rex) is pretty weak, but the games and the educational value of the game are very strong. Our son thinks the game is great. It is definitely his favorite - he asks to play all the time. Something about dinosaurs that just gets kids going, I guess.

Fun times
My 3 year old is into all things dinosaur right now and I thought that this would be a good activity for him. It has completely surpassed my expectations. The point of the game is that you are on an island trying to find hidden eggs for different kinds of dinosaurs that will help you defeat the T-Rex. The island it broken into three paleologic periods (Jurassic, Triassic, and Cretaceous). In order to hatch the eggs that you find you must complete activities to earn hatching crystals. Some of these activities include bone builder (putting skeletons together), connect-a-cave (using puzzle pieces to make a path from you to the stranded dino), and other intellectually stimulating activities. All in all it is a very stimulating game and one where we have to govern the time playing a day or my son would play all day. Also, it's not a win and never want to play again game. My son keeps coming back to try and beat the T-Rex again. Because the graphics aren't the greatest and sometimes gliches in XP and due to the fact that the disc must remain in the drive to play I give it a 9 out of 10.
