My grandaughter loved this!
My 6 1/2 year old grandaughter had a bit of trouble figuring out how to sew the animals. But, once she figured it out, she made them all in a few days. And I had to buy her the 2nd kit.

Great product!
I think this was super fun. I’m 21 and trying to learn to sew, so I think this was a great way to learn how to start. I only gave four stars because an piece of fabric for my animal was missing in one of the kits. Besides that it was super fun! I loved that it came in a bag too. Makes it easy to keep everything together.

Great idea, not so great materials.
The idea is great. The projects come in separate pouches which makes it easy to organize, but the materials are not good, too cheap. The thread twists into knots constantly— so frustrating, the guiding holes are too close to the border and rip easily with the rough plastic needle that the set includes, the scissors barely cut, the glued pieces come off—guessing the quality of the glue is not good either. My child was excited to work on it and really tried, but ended up quitting. With better materials this would be a 5 star product.

Good kit, but not frustration-free for the sewing challenged
I am a sewing challenged adult. I got a very easy sewing kit from a department store that my six-year-old loved doing with help from me. I thought this sewing kit would be very easy too, but it was a little harder. We started with the bird. I had some challenges lining up the wing parts, and I became slightly frustrated. I think my child was picking up on this, and I had to check myself and my frustration. In the end, I am not sure we sewed the bird completely according to the directions, but it was good enough, and it looked cute. I think that adults who have grown up sewing or who otherwise have sewing experience will find this an easy craft, and those of us who did not and do not have sewing skills will possibly get frustrated, but if you go with the flow and don't let your frustration get the best of you, this can be a fun craft to share with your child. We ended up really enjoying spending the time together and the finished product (even though it was not perfect). Everything is well laid-out with instruction for each animal, and each animal comes in its own plastic package. It also comes with a cute reusable bag that you can put everything you didn't do back into for easy storage (which is key for our household). This is a quality kit, and I am excited to do the rest of the animals with my child.

Great, but little instruction
For a child or beginner, there is pretty much no instruction. Thankfully, I know how to sew and was able to help my child out. A good gift to give, but keep that in mind.

"Sew"....your kid wants to sew?
My daughter, being near 8 now wants to sew. I've been hearing, "Mommy let me sew something" for 2 months now. I get her this for her birthday and crack it open for her. After she eagerly awaits sewing but impatiently keeps asking, "Can I sew now?", I read the instructions and let her begin. All I now know is this: she's sewed one of the animals after thoroughly frustrating herself sewing knots and tangles for a good 90 minutes that I had to constantly fix while she kept complaining about it being too hard. "You just do it mom!" It's super cute and she'll pick it back up again, but it was a bit too much for her motor skills and finger work at this stage of her young life.
