Very cool and works (swims?) as advertised!
This is neat little toy for my 13 month old son during his bath time. I was skeptical about its swimming capabilities but when I turned it on, it swam like a champ! Well, it's not too fast and not too slow either but it works. The green might be a little darker than what you see on Amazon's page and that's fine. Unlike some other reviewers here, my son didn't find the darkish green color "horrific" or terribly frightening as some have pointed out. If your child finds such colors disturbing then he/she needs to be checked out immediately. It's a mother frog with a baby frog on top of her. How much more frightening can it be? Anyways, the packaging says not to use rechargeable AA but I did anyways so I am not sure why they stated that. I haven't test out how long this thing can go for but it moves just as well on my hardwood floor as it does in the water. Yes, it floats. Pretty cool and not a bad price.

Lasted for only one swim
Cute and fun swim toy, but it died after one day in the pool. Water leaked into battery compartment, immediately made a corrosion mess, tried cleaning and using it on land, but it was too far gone. Trash

Ignore the negative reviews
Very easy to turn on and off. Very sturdy and held up to my dog grabbing it a bunch of times and even chewing a little too. Cute fun toy.

Here’s to Hoping
Packaging was trashed, adding it to a gift basket, hopefully it will last more than one use... it doesn’t look too sturdy.

Surprisingly it works
After reading the reviews for this item, I didn't have high hopes of this thing working, but to my surprise it works. It's not fast, but she swims across the water. Keep in mind that the thing is all plastic and seems a little fragile so it's probably something that won't last very long. To ensure that the battery compartment doesn't fill up with water you need to screw the battery cap on fairly tightly, but not so tight that it damages the rubber O-ring. From there, turn the battery cap one way or the other until the contact points inside the battery compartment engage and turn the frog on. To turn it off, turn the battery a little bit one way or the other to separate the contact point inside the compartment. A little twist is all that is needed to start and stop it.

If your toddler loves frogs, this will be a hit!
I have a two year old grandson who loves frogs and this was perfect. It swims in the pool and in the tub and will crawl along the floor when out of water. My grandson has thrown it into the tub without water in it and it has held up perfectly.

Don't Buy
This doesn't work very well and the battery compartment just twists open and closed so it doesn't seem very safe for water. Not nearly as much fun as I was hoping it would be.

Kids Love It
My kids love it-lots of fun in a pool but a bit noisy. I think the secret of keeping water out of the battery compartment is a generous application of petroleum jelly on the threads of the cover.
