This product is not for human use. They both have the same use/effect, but contain different active ingredients. The active ingredient in the human ointment is menthol (1.25%). The active ingredients in the veterinary are guaiacol (0.56%) and methyl guaiacol (0.36%).

NUMOTIZINE NUMOTIZINE OINTMENT. Active Ingredients. Menthol 1.25% Purpose. Topical Analgesic. Inactive ingredients. Clay, Color, Fragrance of Guaiacol, Methyl Guaiacol and Oil of Wintergreen, Polyols.

Q: How can the expiration date be 9/30/2018? The product should be expired and certainly not for sale.

Sorry...... My mistake. I had the wrong expiration date. The correct expiration date on the container I purchased is 1/2020
