Yikes. Super hard.
I wanted hard puzzles and this is it. Too hard to do without checking the answers . Some very clever word play and tricks. For hard core crossworders.

Does the job of not boring me
I like difficult crosswords and this collection engages moderately, and delivers by and large-- some definitions of questionable authenticity or taste. It also helps that it's both large print and spiral bound for comfort and accessibility.

Book is torn up.
I bought this for my dad for Father's day and the book is completely torn and bent up, but the packaging is fine, so it was obviously put in the box like that. It's more work than it's worth to send it back, so it's just annoying. Other than that, it's a nice book. Spiral bound, large print, easy to read and easy to use. I can't comment on how easy or hard it is, that's my dad's thing.

Good hard puzzles for the serious puzzler
Peter Gordon edits the best hard crossword anthologies available. I prefer hard puzzles - NYT Saturday puzzles - and it is hard to find enough to do them daily. These are not all as hard as that, but I have breezed through only one or two of them, and even those have had challenging sections. And many of them are real posers.

Clues are strange
I love LA Times, NY Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc... crosswords. So, I've done all different types, but the ones in this book are just strange. It's not super hard just odd. Would not recommend it.

Awesome gift idea!!
I bought this puzzle book for a family member's Christmas gift. He loves to solve very difficult Crossword puzzles, so I thought this book would be the perfect gift.

Super-Tough Indeed
Got this book as I had gone through all Peter Gordon's Fireball books and there don't seem to be any more coming out. I was worried that a large print book might be dumbed down a bit for oldsters, but so far these are possibly harder than Fireball puzzles. Less "tricky", but the answers feel more obscure. Not a criticism but for my needs the print is too large. I sure don't need my reading glasses, but the puzzles span two pages which makes them a little inconvenient.
