really does kill flies without leaving a mess
I love these! I hate flies and these are highly effective at dispatching them. I've given many out as gifts. Easy..and fun to use. And customer service is excellent! I had a part break after years of use. I asked if i could purchase a new part. They responded by saying they would send a new one at no cost! 5 stars and more!

Great product
We were a bit disconcerted when we received a package all covered with stamps and tags from the UK. It was this fly-killer, imported and duly reported to US Customs

Trigger breaks as others have said
It was fun and effective until the trigger came apart. I bought two and the both broke.

Another dumb toy
Makes a fun gift. Doesn’t work worth a damn for killing flies, but kids can play hunter with it. Always keep one around as a toy for anyone. The cat doesn’t like it too much.

My dad always used them to kill flies in the house - works so much better than a fly swatter
We used have these when I was little and I was excited to see them on here. My dad always used them to kill flies in the house - works so much better than a fly swatter. We used to shoot them at each other- it's such a fun harmless toy. I bought these for my brother & his family to use for either purpose.

Probably better for flies, not mosquitoes
Can't vouch for flies, but a direct hit on mosquitoes didn't phase them even from a few feet away. I think maybe it's because this thing is slightly concave and the mosquitoes on the wall are so small that if you hit dead center it won't actually kill them, they're protected by being in the middle. They would just fly off as if nothing happened.I don't have time to get good with this thing, it was a cheap experiment. Ended up getting one of those salt guns and am very happy with it.This thing does fly out pretty hard, though. I have no doubt it would kill a bug if you managed to hit it with it just right.

Sharpshooter
Bought my 1st one in the 80s in San Francisco hardware store. Lasted many years, with a good eye ,can easily kill flies in midair. No need to have them land first .

Genuinely useful
Bought this as a bit of fun alongside a very expensive electrified tennis racket. So far the score is about Fly Gun: 20 - Expensive Electrified Tennis Racket: 4.Can kill smaller flies, with the big buggers sometimes it just stuns them long enough for you to deliver the coup-de-grace. Pro-tip, aim slightly ahead of the fly.

Great little buy
A lot lighter in weight as to what I had expected but performs its task really well. Hold about 8 to 12 from target and pull the trigger.I’ve had three hits out of five attempts so far. Try to dispose of your target while it’s on a flat target if possible. Like other reviewers, it leaves no mess, quitevamazing actually.Go on treat yourself, can’t go wrong for the money. Recommend it.

Death to all flies - guaranteed
Absolutely brilliant. The original, from our grandson, is still working after several years even though the string has had to be knotted together. Flies don't stand a chance. They just don't see it, whereas they'd instantly see your hand holding a newspaper and fly off. Don't really understand why they can't see it - but it works so I'm not complaining. We are buying loads more as small presents. Much better than the battery operated racquet-type thing we were bought beforehand.

A BIT OF FUN....
A bit of fun, but no more than that. Very ineffective as a fly killer unless you're lucky enough to get close to your intended target. Sometimes useful to apply the coup de gracé to a fly downed by other methods. If you're serious about exterminating flies in your house and having maximum fun whilst doing so, spend a bit more money and buy 'The Executioner'.

Pleasantly surprised
Bought as a birthday present for someone who hates flies, and we've been having a lot of them. To be honest, I didn't expect it to work particularly well, it was more a gag gift. However it's really effective and simple to use. Loses some power if you're shooting a fly quite far away, which is expected. Mechanism is simple so I doubt it will break, and is surprisingly sturdy.
