Scalp Scrub UPDATE WITH VIDEO!
This is like a clarifying shampoo but better. We have to drive into town and fill up a tank so that we can have water in our cabin. That means that in bad weather, we have to watch every single drop. That means a lot less showering than most people. That translates to using dry shampoo, as well as other buildup on my scalp. This dark paste scrubs all of that stuff away. Better than any clarifying shampoo.Afterwards, I use a heavy duty hair mask, usually with a heating cap.Clean and conditioned, my hair can stay fresh and looking nice for longer periods of time.Terrific product, recommended if you are looking to exfoliate your scalp. In my opinion, if all of those follicles are free from debris, it likely helps with new growth.Update: okay, so I'm in a hotel and I know that tomorrow some poor unexpecting housekeeping person will be here to clean.Because this should ideally stay on your head for a few minutes after you scrub it on, I tried to wet my hair in the sink, and then take some and put it on my head.Well, you can imagine what happened. Clumps of this product wound up in the sink and on the floor. Because of the color, I carefully cleaned each and every spot that I could, well, spot!I always tip housekeeping very well when I leave a room, but just in case I missed a little bit of this product, they are getting an extra big tip this time. And I hope my pre-clean was thorough enough that they won't know why the big tip!I really hope this made you smile and laugh, and instead of totally grossing you out. I apologize if it grossed you out.

Expensive but healthy stuff
The main ingredients of this product are based on research and usage of ancient Indian culture and have been used by Indian for centuries. Since they are herbal and Aurvedic, carry a proven track record, I would say they will not do bad if not good for your hairs. However, here are couple of observations:1. These are not really 100% herbal and natural products. They do have added chemicals which might influence the characteristics of the raw products. These added ingredients are probably to help them last longer in shelf But this is worth noting.2. In Instructions, there is no mention how much to use for one application. For regular shampoo, we are pretty sure how much is good enough because we are using them for ages but for such products any new user will be confused what should be the appox usage. Their Instructions should make it clear.3. We did see a different in the heirs after the application. But again, Instructions mentioned to wash using conditioner after its usage. So the results were not only the result of this product but also after the use of conditioner which should be used as per instructions. This does not make sense and does not really give me. a great experience and feeling about the authenticity and actual results of the product.4. The products are quiet pricey. I wish they could be made more affordable. Best in class and professional grade products will be more economic or in this price range but definitely with many more applications compare to how many applications you get from this product. It is not value for money product. In the long run, if consistently use this product, you may get an idea about how much to use per application And if the product content to be believed, they will be good for heirs. But we can only know about that after many more applications when we see some visible differences. Worth to try for once at least.

It's a texture thing...
First I want to say that that this product did have a cool feature with a tray and small wooden scoop spoon that fit inside the bottle even with the cap on. A little weird for a scrub that needs to be applied to a relatively large area (scalp), but neat because I have never seen it before. That being said, this product is not for me I guess. It was mostly a texture thing, but overall I wasn't impressed by the product as a whole. The scrub comes in a wide mouth low profile jar with a very small spoon to apply it with. It was really awkward to get it to my scalp in the shower with a tiny wooden spoon. I had to set it on the counter next to the shower door and reach out several times to try and scoop enough of it to use. I would have added a full star for a pump or some better way to dispense this product. The scrub did not suds up at all for me which made it really difficult to spread evenly under my hair and apply to my whole scalp. I am sure that it is supposed to be gritty for the scrubbing action, but it felt like the grit bunched up in one area because there were no suds to help move it around. It did rinse out completely leaving no grit or oily feeling on my scalp. There was a pleasant slight tingling cool feeling on my scalp after rinsing which surprised me because I did not see any ingredients on the label that would have done that. I did not appreciate the smell very much. It had a bit of a nostalgic scent because it reminded me of the incense burned in most of the record stores I went to as a kid, but it is not a fragrance I would choose to apply when going out of the house. I know some of my disappointment is based on the inconvenient application method, but in general the scrub just did not really do anything noticeable for me.

Did not work out for my hair type
I love a good scalp scrub and love trying new ones. I also enjoy using products that have good and clean ingredients when I can. So when I had the opportunity to try out this AyurVita Haircare - Maka Extract Scalp Scrub & Cleanser I went for it!This comes in a jar with a wooden spoon and the directions say to mix well before use. You definitely want to mix this as the oils were mostly on the bottom with the grit on top, so mix well! Now I have used plenty of hair scrubs that come in a jar. While they are a bit harder to work with generally, this one just takes it to a new level! Even just mixing this you end up with some everywhere. Honestly this would not bother me as much if this scrub worked really well. But unfortunately on my specific hair type this seams to do more harm then good.I have very long and nearly stick straight hair where the strands individually are thin but I have a whole lot of it (volume is a constant struggle for me!). Not only did I have a hard time distributing this throughout my hair before the scrubby bits dissolved, but I also had to use a whole lot of product. I am fairly certain that i would only get about 8-10 uses out of this jar max based on what I need to use the three times I have used this so far. This also makes my hair feel really weighed down and also makes it look greasy. Considering scalp scrubs should do the opposite of this I don’t think it’s working out well for my particular hair type.Overall it’s just not meant for my hair type. So for that reason I can not recommend it for anyone that has similar hair to me.

It works!
I struggle with itchy, flaky scalp and even seborrheic dermatitis on occasion especially on the front hairline. After using this scrub a few times I haven't had any flair ups and it has significantly decreased the itchiness in my scalp. If you've never tried a scalp scrub before this might be odd for you. I keep the scrub outside the shower and scoop it into my hands and then use inside the shower that way I don't get any water into the tub. They included the cutest little scoop, however I think a flat spatula type would've been better bc some of the granules get stuck inside the scoop. I appreciate that they included this, tho.The scent is strong! Probably too strong for some. It's definitely an herbal slightly smoky smell. The smell actually lingers in my hair until I wash with a shampoo. It's pleasant to me, but might be too strong for those with scent sensitivities.Another big positive for this - it rinsed so well and left my hair so soft! I actually thought it would leave it greasy but it didn't at all!My biggest con to this is the price. A little bit goes a long way and I've only been using two times a week so I think it will last a while, but I've never purchased a hair product at this price point and I'm not sure I ever could. If the price came down some I would absolutely repurchase!
