Minecraft Blockopedia: Updated Edition: The Definitive Illustrated Guide To Over 600 BlocksI've purchased this book for my son's Christmas box, even though he has been playing Minecraft for years he still likes to read all the new official Minecraft literature, more so this 'Blockopedia' as it has all the stats and data which isn't found in the game.This book has been nicely presented, hard backed, very colourful with glossy pages of which there are 312!!! Each block is detailed in full colour with stats that you probably never knew existed. The book is broken down into sections which are:1. World Blocks - such as Podzol, dirt, gravel2. Productive Blocks - including logs, grass, fern3. Refined Blocks - e.g. wood4. Utility Blocks - torch, lantern etc5. Redstone Blocks - the blocks that make things move such as Redstone torch, pistons6. Miscellaneous Blocks - cakes, mob heads and so onEach block will have a full colour picture along with a tonne of information which probably isn't all relevant but sure is bound to teach Minecraft players a thing or two, maybe give them an edge on competitive survival mode games on the many various servers. Typically, you will be told where it's found, blast resistance, renewable, hardness, light emission, I could go on but you get the idea.This is one of those books where my son will be quite happy to sit down and study to build up his already extensive knowledge plus it gets him off the computer for a while, no doubt he will be eager to apply some of this information he learns from this book.To be honest, it would've been better if he wrote this review but that would mean him having this book before Christmas, I'm sure he'd jump at the chance :)He has actually asked for this book anyway, it's on his Christmas list and I'm glad I was able to get it at a reduced price of only £12, which is brilliant, very good value for money.Happy to recommend.

The first one I received was damaged, including some scribbling imprint on the front cover, which was not on the outer packaging, so it must have been damaged before it was sent to me. In addition the corners were bashed. This could be because it was loose and unwrapped in a package a bit too big for it, so it might have slipped around a lot during transit. The item was too damaged to be suitable for a birthday gift. So I ordered another. This one also arrived damaged, e.g. tearing inside the front cover, and scratches on the back cover. I think that the seller (in this case Amazon, not a third party seller) should indicate that these books are "seconds" quality, and save customers the hassle of having to having to send the books back, and then source at last minute from an alternative supplier, because Amazon are sending out damaged copies. Fortunately I was able to buy elsewhere, undamaged, and the recipient liked the book a lot.

First off is a warning. This book weighs literally a ton! The chap went to give it to me and it actually hurt my frozen shoulder due to the weight of it.Anyway, onto the book. My 6 year old nephew likes it and it’s a good quality, well made book that I’m convinced, judging by the weight of it is made from lead. 😂

Order this for my minecraft obsessed 7 year old, he has some of the other official book but this is another level for quality. Brought it for £9 on offer with prime delivery it’s a bargain. Hard black outer sleeve and glossy think pages inside it’s large probably double the size of the other books. Each block has a double spread dedicated to detailing the info. Only thing I can see might be an issue is the pages are large so a younger person may end up ripping them if they don’t take care. Overall I think it will make a great Xmas pressie 👍🏼

This really can be appreciated as a gorgeous book. It is sturdy and the cover is beautiful;just as a proper old encyclopedia should be.It really does contain information about every Minecraft brick. This probably makes it quite niche but I can assure you that, for Minecraft loving kids,it is a compendium of wonder!
