Best pair for the field or bird watching (or zombies) you can possibly own!
Absolutely AMAZING binoculars, I verified this seller is a child company of a large retailer that purchases direct from Analytik Docteur. Sonia from Docteur was very helpful verifying the serial number and that these were a legit pair, not a knock-off. This company also just got bought out after almost 70-80 years making binoculars, and they have an agreement to make everything the exact same for 3 years, but doesn't guarantee this line being sold. For those who are interested, Rex Reviews does an entire piece on these and is what sold me to look for a pair. They are durable (but doesn't mean you can trash them of course), and are made by the same company that made these for the Berlin Wall back in the 40's. These do not have the radioactive protective lens, so they are crystal (and I mean CRYSTAL) clear. You can see the dust kicking up from a chipmunk, they are that good. Highly recommend them to anyone considering a pair. Can't believe I spent this much on them (they were cheaper when I got them) but I'm so glad I did. Oh and they are made with Zeiss glass, some of the best in the World if not the best.

Extremely good glasses
I bought my Zeiss Jena EDF 7X40 binoculars many years ago, just after the fall of the Berlin Wall. These were considered to be the finest field grade binoculars ever made. The glasses are also made in the original Zeiss Jena factory, when Jena was the location of the Zeiss factory. These glasses have tritium night capabilities for illuminating the range finding reticles .These glasses also have an internal infrared filter that can be moved into one of the objective lens barrels and allow the viewer of the binoculars to see if the enemy is using infrared scopes on their positions.German military ruggedness is also a major factor in these incredible binoculars.Clarity and contrast are superb. There is a yellow tint to the lenses, which is a special coating designed for protection against radiation. Apparently the tint turns instantly to black in the event you are looking through the glasses when a nuclear explosion occurs. The coating protects your eyes. Yes, it would be hard to prove or test this featureThese binoculars rival anything on the market today and you have the cache of owning an original Zeiss Jena product.
