Heavenly Ginger Treats
We are not [gasp!] chocolate addicts, so are always on the lookout for non-chocolate treats. We first found these in Canada on Prince Edward Island, lured by the unusual ginger flavor, and both fell in love on first taste. We spent the last of our Canadian money to buy up several tins to bring home. And then they were gone...Our Internet search brought us to Amazon, and we ordered a case which is reasonably priced. All the usual accolades for Amazon apply - top quality, fast service, well-packaged.These chews are sturdy, not like gummy bears, so you can let them slowly dissolve in your mouth like a hard candy, providing you can resist the urge to chew! They are not too sweet, and the ginger flavor is intense, so if you are looking for a hint of ginger you will be overpowered. Ginger lovers, though, will be hooked by the very first one and always make sure to have a tin around from then on. They travel well without smushing and spilling out in your purse like the cardboard gum packets, and the tins recycle nicely for folks thinking green. For enterprising palates: I recommend you also try the peppermint ginger chews. Hubby isn't so much into peppermint and prefers the original ginger chews, but I'm more daring and will happily alternate between them. And how wonderful that we don't have to go to Canada to get more!

My New Addiction
What I like about Chimes candies it that they are just ginger and real sugar, not corn syrup. I found them in the variety store in my office building but they run out quickly and don't have them reguarly. Then I made the mistake of sharing them with my boyfriend who would come over on Friday night and the whole bag would be gone by Saturday afternoon. I got so tired of hunting them down that I decided to find them on Amazon. And of course you can find just about anything on this website so here they are. I bought a box of Orange and a box of the Mango flavored ginger candies and now I have 40 tins of candy. At least now I don't have to hide them! I took this as a chance to share the wealth and passed them around to my co-workers and gave out about half my stash and in the process I created a few converts. While the orange and mango are my favorite, the regular and oddly the peanut butter are also worth a try. Enjoy!

Yummy & Great Small Gift
If someone who will remain nameless would stop eating all mine, then I wouldn't have had to get the box of 20 Chimes ginger candy tins. But I'm glad I did. The packaging is cute, and makes a great small gift to hand out to a co-worker having a rough day, a client when you visit, or a friend when you stop by to watch the game. The tins are recyclable in most locations. The individually wrapped candies are made with cane sugar and real ginger, no high fructose corn syrup so they are in a way better for you than other candy options. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and can settle a stomach and ease hearburn. When's the last time your chocolate bar did that?

Excellent stocking stufffer!
I got the 20 pack for stocking stuffers and casual Christmas gifts. For about $2 a tin they are a good deal because the tins are very nice, (to me, worth about a buck each and then the candies work out to under 10 cents each.) Nice MANDARIN orange flavor at first and then the heat kicks in with the ginger. I'll prob reorder in the bulk bags but the tins make it great for giving gifts. Each tin is bit smaller than a standard band-aid box with maybe 15 chews in them. I don't know, I got to eating them and lost count. The chews are a bit smaller than the standard ginger chews you can find in Asian shops, but this is more than made up for in the natural orange flavor.

Does Not Ring My Chimes -- Caution: Cannot Return This Item!!! ... like unto a ginger gummy bear ... only ...
... it sticks to my teeth. :-(Thumbs ups: Nice ginger flavor. On the hot side of the flavor spectrum. Hotness and ginger taste lingers. Are a bit too sweet for my palate. Just three ingredients listed in order 1st to 3rd: sugar, ginger, and tapioca starch which is nice.Thumbs downs: It is packaged as tiny chiclet size pieces in a tough adult proof plastic-foil wrapper. For neither hot weather nor climates as they melt and become fused to the inside of the wrapper at temperatures above ca80F. I live in Abilene, TX [believe Abilene is an Indian word for Surface-of-the-Sun] so you can imagine what they are like as they were left sitting behind my screen door all day. Chimes could slash the price to 20% of what they charge were they to sell them in a plastic bag wrapped as peppermints are. Definitely not green packaging!Oh, and I dislike gummy bears - had I only known they were an amorphous first cousin. Not a happy customer - especially as cannot return the remaining unopened 19 tins! :-((Well here it is a year and a half later and I still have 18 or so little tins of these tiny fused foil and ginger tapioca pellets. What a waste of money.

Great product, watch out for expiration date
Let me start by saying how much i love chimes and their adorable little tin packaging. I ordered these last Christmas to include in little gift packages... Ive ordered them before from amazon and had no problem, though this time they came in an opened box and with the expiration code on the bottom of the tin rubbed/blotted out. On some of the packages I could still faintly make out a date from early 2010 though. By no means did I want to give as gifts expired candy, let alone boxes that had been tampered with. I called amazon and they promptly replaced the case, though unfortunately the new case was expired as well(despite me asking for them to check), though the dates had not been rubbed out. At this point, I knew that the entire batch was just probably old and took my chances and asked them to replace with a different flavor(as I knew they would not check), hoping the new flavor was from a different shipment. Luckily, the mango ones I ordered were fine and did not expire until 2012. It was just terribly unfortunate that such a great item had no checks or balances before they left the amazon warehouse- ultimately amazon replaced both boxes, but it was a hassle and disappointment to keep getting old merchandise.

Over priced at this time. Always tasty though
Love the stuff. But I thought these were the 5 ounce bags which only a few months ago were the same price. These are way over priced. Tins are nice though. But unfortunately I just throw them out this was like a pack of tic tacs except only a few candies inside. There seems to be some crazy shortage of these which has increased the price to 4 to 5 times the cost. I'll wait until this covid thing is over before I buy more.

Nice taste but ripped off
Last time I purchased these I paid less than $5 for a 142 gram bag. Imagine my surprise when I received these miniature tins for close to the same price. I didnt look closely enough at the size. Now your 142 gram bags are $15. Not impressed. I will watch closer now on amazon purchases. How do you justify that much of a price jump. I purchased elsewhere and they were $4.50 for 142 grams. Disappointed Amazon.

Not worth it. Package is very small.
The size of the box is deceiving. It seems to be the bigger size and it is priced like the larger 5 oz size but it is not. This is only 2 oz. You are paying for a silly tin package. Buy the larger 5 oz it at a "bricks and mortar" store and you will pay less overall.
