Perfect Woodpecker Repellent
We had a woodpecker problem and hung three of these on three sides of the house and we have not seen a single woodpecker since. They are very large and we used stucco to glue them to the stucco on the wall. We also added black tape on two edges to avoid any damage from the wind. They do swing a lot in the wind and hit the walls with noise but it's either that or having holes from woodpeckers pecking. We accept the sound. We removed two of them as it was quite windy but no woodpeckers have returned. We only used one disc in each location we hung them. This is the most effective, humane and clean way to make the woodpeckers go where they belong. I've also seen similar product perched on roofs of buildings so there are definitely ways to make the birds move on without hurting them.

HOONT REFLECTIVE BIRD REPELLENT DISCS
HOONT BIRD REPELLENT DISCS: These discs are meant to keep the birds out of pesky areas (gardens, patios, garages). There are 8 discs and some repellent. These are completely harmless to animals, there are no chemicals. The "repellent" part of these discs are the reflector and movement. Birds are less likely to fly/hang around the discs especially when they are reflecting the sun. I live on a ranch and am going to try these at my corrals with my bum cows. This is where I keep grains and the birds love to fly in and eat the corn and grains for the cows. This is very expensive so I am looking forward to putting these reflective discs in that area. I also have a nice patio with dog food they like to eat so I am going to order a few more of these and see if I can keep them off my porch. There is some assembly required with these, they do not come attached. However, the assembly is very easy to do. When you first get these HOONT Reflective Bird Repellent DISCS they have a white film on each side, you must remove that film to get to the reflective side. For more information and to see other HOONT products, they do have a website: Hoontusa.com you can take a look. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this product.

Worth knowing
Buyer beware: they seem to be affective but please know it will take you about 500 years to prep and assemble these, and you may slice yourself and draw blood in the process! Wish they came assembled.

Useless Gadgets
I had high hopes that this product would keep the house finches off our patio cover, but alas, they are building their nests again in the same spot they have for years. The discs are hanging no more than 2 feet from that spot. The birds are NOT impressed or intimidated at all.The other downside to the discs is that they reflect light into the house so we have to keep the shades drawn most of the day or we'd go crazy with the reflections dancing all over the family room and kitchen.I wish I had something else I could recommend to other people contemplating a purchase of these useless gadgets but I don't.

It worked!
It worked! I had a woodpecker knocking on my siding the same morning the item arrived on the mail. The woodpecker kept coming back a few minutes after we chased it away. I hanged the discs from two corners of my house and we have not seen the woodpecker again! This is a good quality kit. The discs came in with a protective white plastic film that you need to remove when installing it. The connecting rings and free spinning connectors seem sturdy enough to last a very long time exposed to the environment.I hanged the discs from my gutter adding a 3 foot long galvanized wire (typically used for picture hanging) so that they would be more in the middle of the wall where the woodpecker was punching holes.
