Milky appearance when first applied, it darkened the pine and looked wet and shiny, then dried lighter (see photos)Lovely finish, so easy to apply, touch dry within 20 mins, no strong smell. I use a lot of varnish for my DIY projects and this is certainly the best in my opinion.

I love this varnish. It gives a true matt finish and protects my painted surfaces. Extremely tough and hard wearing.

Easy to apply and excellent finish.

Brought as a top coat for my attempt at a multiple layered black lacquer makeover on a thrifted sideboard. Not finished yet but I am very pleased with the performance of this product. Dries very fast, do not keep going over the same spot when its drying. Use a sponge brush or roller to "wipe" the product onto surface.Tips: Stir and when you think it's done, spend another 5 mins stirring. A little goes a long way.

I've used this on my dining table twice in the space of 7 years and it's left a lovely finish. Did 3 coats while sanding at 240 grit in between. The second time I did it I have it a small amount of wax polishing to give it a nicer feel.

Utter garbage 5 coats still unless it's like water went to screw fix this morning to get some proper varnish at half the price

This was my first time dabbling in the world of varnishing...and am pleased with the results!First of all (and showing my inexperience here) as a clear, matt varnish...I didn't expect it to look or feel like skimmed milk. After reading the instructions and some other reviews, gave it a good stir which thickened it ever so slightly but I do think you need to stir regularly while using otherwise you can feel a sediment start to settle at the bottom.Applied to new doors, no previous varnish or colour applied and I really wanted a non glossy coat just to enhance the wood whilst offering some protection. This did the trick.As for durability and being easy to clean, only time will tell but I have high hopes!
