SureGuard Mattress Protectors Cal King (17-20 in. Deep) Encasement - 100% Waterproof, Bed Bug Proof, Hypoallergenic - Premium Zippered Six-Sided Cover

I bought this mattress protector for my son's twin bed because the product description says "100% Waterproof" and that It will protect the mattress against bed wetting. Well my son had an accident over the weekend and let me tell you.... the mattress protector is not even 1% waterproof!!!! When I unzipped the encasement to take it off, I noticed that all the urine completely soaked through the supposedly 100% waterproof material!!! I was pretty furious considering I paid $40 for this protector only to find out it was a complete waste of my money and now I can't return it. Not to mention I had to scrub and clean my son's BRAND NEW mattress because this protector didn't do its job. If you're looking to just encase your mattress, I'm sure this product would work just fine but if you have young kids like me who can/do have bed wetting accidents, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I don't normally write reviews but I felt like I should for this product so other parents can be aware of the false advertising and don't waste their money.

Bought this after my 9 year old puppy started having kidney problems. He spends most of the day on the bed when I'm not home. After he had his second accident on the bed I decided to look for a cover that was waterproof, but also comfortable. After about a month on the bed, today he had another accident. Urine soaked right through as if it was made of tissue paper. Zero stoppage. Complete waste of $45.00.

The terry cloth top was a little bit of an odd choice, but so far it seems fine. No immediate quality issues.Update: My toddler likes to sleep with a blanket on, even when it is warm. Therefore he sweats a lot while sleeping. I went to wash his sheets and found mold in the terry cloth under the pillow area. Not a good quality for an item trying to help reduce allergens. I regret not realizing that this cover had a terry cloth surface before purchasing.

First of all I got this product within 2 days of purchase...love that! I read the reviews both good and bad, and decided to buy it...it's crazy how the reviews can be so mixed. Anyway, this mattress protector appears to be well-made. And, I was able to put it on my mattress all by myself! I propped the short end of the mattress on a 2 1/2 ft tall trunk I keep at the foot of my bed and it was super easy to put it on that way. I love that the zippered opening is quite large, which also helped make it easy. The Mattress protector fit my 11" high new mattress perfectly, with no awkward excess material. Also, it does not make any weird plastic-sounding noises when I sleep on it. Yes, A little bit of air was caught in it and made it puff out, but I just unzipped it and pushed the air out. For me this seemed to indicate a nice airtight fit. Sorry, but I did not test it for waterproofing.... I bought it to keep dustmites/bedbugs out and I think it will work perfectly for that (not that I have ever had bed bugs thank goodness!) I just got this yesterday and so my review will only be for the fabric quality and easy installation. It was so easy, did it by myself in less than 5mins, and slipped smoothly into my brand new 12-inch mattress. Snugged so perfectly and no bulky/wrinkly fitting. I like the fabric, it’s real fabric and not plastic so it doesn’t make any sound when you’re in bed. I have yet to see how durable it is, though. I washed it before installing, fearing it might shrink. It didn’t. Just set on cold water and low dry.
