The Search for the Real Mt. Sinai

This is a DVD that I have shown many times at my jail ministry. It never fails to astound even the more skeptical. Christian apologetics is an area within Christian teaching that is woefully under taught, in my opinion. This is a film that will, at the very least, encourage your faith in the One, Almighty God and the authenticity of His Word. Although not a digitally enhanced, sensationalized video, the creators did a good job of catching and keeping your attention.The video hits on a number of scriptural passages describing the journey to, and the camping at The Real Mount Sinai. Here are a few of the highlight you will enjoy when watching:1) They mention that the bible states that the phrase, "Out of Egypt" is mentioned 72 times to describe where the Israelites were to go. This means that it could NOT be in the Sinai peninsula.2) Pictures of the Biter Springs of Marah (Exodus 15:23)3) Pictures of where the 12 springs of Elim were probably located (Exodus 15:27)4) There is a picture of what the locals call, "The caves of Moses" where the explorers were told by a Syrian archeologist at the site, excavations have shown numerous pieces of evidence that Moses traveled through the area.5) The local Bedouins call this particular mountain, "The Mountain of Moses"6) They show video and pictures of a huge alter at the base of the mountain covered with petroglyphs of bovine (cattle) that are not indigenousness to the area.7) They show numerous alter sites, markers, and other remains scattered around the mountain.8) You will see the split rock at Horeb where water gushed forth, and9) The rocks around it that are completely warn down like river rocks in an area that only gets 1/4" rain every 10 years!10) Pictures of a huge basin that could easily become a lake and store millions of gallons of water11) There is a large cave12) Most interesting to me was that the entire top of the mountain is BLACK!13) They take a rock at the top of the mountain, break it open, and see that it is completely charred on the outside, but perfect granite on the inside - - meaning that it wasn't just volcanic, black rock.14) They show an area that could have been used as a battlefield.15) They find groves of Acasia wood that could have been used to build the Ark of the Covenant16) They find a burnt patch of rocks (like at the summit) at the split rock of HorebThe one area that I disagree with is where the crossing took place. Other research into where the crossing actually took place has led me to conclude that it was much further north than this video claims.As I've dug further into this, I have found numerous sites on the internet with pictures and even video which confirms everything that they showcase in the DVD. In fact, something that astounded me that I ran across is that if you go to Google Maps and look for the mountain (simply type the GPS coordinates like this, "28 35.60, 35 22.75" into " maps dot google dot com") you will see that the mountain is COMPLETELY BLURRED OUT! That's right! The surrounding desert area is crystal clear, but the area around the mountain cannot be resolved. What does that say?!Although this documentary is not Hollywood quality, I give it 5 stars for the work that was put into making such an important video.

Among the reviews I read "no real proof, no videos, no pictures," But they had all of the above so what are they saying ??? Whether you believe it or not, it's palpable at how angry they are. It's also disgusting that they are trying to lie when the actual video is right here in it's entirety. I'm thankful that I'll never meet nor know these "people" who are seething with so much hatred and anger that they have to lie to the people watching this. It's far too common today where others have to actually lie to the world because they cannot deal with their own mental illness. They're ill because they are posting lies, and to what end? Who would believe a faceless poster versus their very eyes? The entire reason this was made (according to the men in the film) is to see if it's true.In the end, the reality is if you have to have everything presented before you you're as ignorant as any common fool. If you need everything spelled out, without looking at the bits of evidence in my opinion aren't worth of real knowledge. I'll end with this, humans are simple creatures. People coming from the same area, same age, same mental competency have issues understanding one another. Now imagine someone of great knowledge, sophistication, and a higher existence trying to explain to them so they understand their existence. People to this day panic when 1 or 2 things are out of order or they can't comprehend the most simple things.It's akin to computers. Billions of people use the electronics, but don't understand anything about them. Even though it's human made, they cannot explain how we go from an abiotic machine to something that can process, comprehend, and "learn." Now imagine trying to teach the fundamentals - most advanced parts of a computer to someone illiterate with a poorly functioning brain. (I say poorly because of how lacking in the intellect department they seem).Where others take a fascination and wonder with "Religions and beings above them." The type who seek to discredit it, and lead people with false allegations are disgusting. Just as with aliens who just had information de-classified. For a century it was said that people who believed in them are insane... But now we have actual proof. Why hide the truth? Why stifle knowledge? I just won't ever understand. They are the "modern" thorns that prevent science from coming to good people who desperately need medicine. The ones who are stuck in the past with what they imagine to be reality. The type who are banging rocks with other rocks. Sad, sad, regressive "people."

Very interesting documentary.

I have seen other documentaries on this subject and none of them has impressed me as much as this one, however that being said this is still not the greatest either, but is worth watching.

This was a very interesting video and I'm glad I bought it.Most of the info I had read in various books but the film did 'fill in' missing pieces such as the caves of Moses etc. It must have been quite an experience for the two explorers to undertake this journey, and must have given them a real sense of achievement once they had completed it. I recommend this video to anyone who is interested in Biblical history
