DenTekEssentials Filling Material

Excellent value, great product.
I bought this as the product I had previously been using was running out and it was taking a while to get a dental appointment. I had a very large filling in a back tooth and part of the tooth itself come off, so I needed something temporary until I could get a more permanent solution from my dentist. I didn't want to have to start mixing products myself, and from reviews I had seen, you had to dry your tooth before hand, and with those ones you have to work extremely quickly before they set or they just go to waste - not very useful when you are trying to put filling material into a back tooth you can't actually see. This one for me is ideal. It has a putty like consistency, and is mouldable, I just took a small amount in my fingers and rolled it into a ball then placed it into the cavity and tried to mould it to shape it where the tooth had broken away. Because my dental appointment came 2 days after I put this in I cannot say how long lasting it is (the previous brand I used never lasted more than 2 days). It does come in a very small tub, and when you open the lid the actual product is about the size of a pea, but all of the temporary filling products I looked at were about the same volume. It stopped my tooth being sensitive/getting more caries so for me it did its job superbly. I did have to order 3 but to be honest at this price I didn't mind doing so, especially as I've had 2 fillings come out in the last few years and anyway the price locally is about double this. There doesn't seem to be an expiry date on this so I guess as long as it's kept in its original container and thd lid is sealed properly these should keep for some time.

A must if you need to fill a tooth
As we are all aware Covid has meant getting in to see a dentist is almost impossible and its expensive as no one can get a NHS Dentist. So when I had a filling fall out I was at a loss on what to do. I came across a number of different temporary filling kits in the shops. The first 2 I tried were horrible they were messy and very difficult to use. The first one ended up in the bin the second one although not as messy and I did actually manage to getting it into the tooth, only lasted a day before falling out.In desperation I got the DenTek filler, oh and what an easy filler it is to use. You take a small bit of the filling material of the plug and just push it into the hole. Use the tool provided and your tongue and just shape it to fit your tooth. Then leave it alone no eating or drinking for about half an hour and that's it. I find it last at least 2 weeks before having to redo it.Tip use a sensitive toothpaste and give your teeth a good clean before using finish of with a mouth wash make sure you really wash around the tooth that needs filling. Spit out but don't rinse leave it for around 5 minutes (you need to make sure you aren't blocking in any food or bacteria in the cavity). Now rinse with water as you are now ready to fill in the tooth. That's it, you are better of doing a small bit and adding a bit more than using to much and wasting it. Lastly always make sure you close the filler as soon as you have done your tooth as air will make it harden.I know this isn't meant as a long term solution but until the issue with getting a Dentist is sorted it will have to do for now. I would recommend everyone have this in their First Aid box as you never know when you or your family my need it.

Recommend for temp filling
Good quick repair. But please make shaw lid is put on quickly after use. As this will dry out,Very quickly. Also use this before you just go to bed. This will harden up. And last about 2 weeks. Depending how you eat on it. This does actually work. Can be abit fidley. This works for me.

It works if you apply before going to sleep
Bit fiddly to apply and followed advice of another reviewer and applied it at night and lasted 3 days so far, better than a gaping hole in my upper back double tooth and whilst I'm mindful when eating, very happy with it. It did crumble first night and kept waking up with tiny bits in my mouth and horrible taste but enough of it stayed on the cavity... Hopefully it will stay in until I see my regular dentist in a couple of weeks, if not plenty left to reapply.Update came out again today when eating soreen banana again.. Will reapply tonight..

Fantastic item
Bought this due to ongoing tooth problem. Worked well - though I did find it set better if I just put it on before bed & then by morning it was fully set & stayed in much longer than if I did it during the day & only left it an hour to set as suggested in the instructions, as it fell out sooner. Great product & you can still brush your teeth with it in & it gives you the pain free freedom to eat & drink as normal until you can get to a dentist.
