This is my favorite wood to use for my laser engraving! It’s one of the best quality pieces I’ve used and is exactly what I needed!

This seller produces good Basswood 12x12 sheets ideal for laser work.However, someone, Amazon, the seller or UPS need to double bag the package of wood. Sometimes the wood delivers with two bags a white one and black one. Other times, such as today, the wood came in one package. The corners of the wood are sharp and did cut through the bag. Might be from rattling around in the back of the UPS truck, might be from being handled along the way. Regardless, two bags need to be used to prevent the wood from being damaged and ultimately returned for replacement.

As soon as I took one of the boards out of the package it warped. I live in the desert and maybe when the package was unsealed the change in moisture did it? I only took one sheet out and am hoping that the rest of them will not be warped now that they were exposed to the lack of humidity here while still in the package. If the manufacturer has a response I'd love to hear it and get some tips. But I suggest first breaking the seal on the package and exposing them to air for a few days before actually taking a sheet out of the package.Note that the thickness of these are exactly .3mm thick. Since I'm laser cutting them to make a puzzle box I needed to know the exact thickness.Other than the warping the quality seems pretty good.

This is the most thickness consistent craft wood I have found on amazon. It's straight, flat and about as close to perfect as you can get Basswood. I has a beautiful wood grain and smooth surface and cuts fantastically with a laser. Buy it you'll be glad you did.

I used this for a laser engraver. I cut smaller, detailed items. It cut and etched beautifully. Because I am working with smaller projects (most around 2"), this thickness is great. I typically use 1/4" with larger projects. This is certainly more expensive than buying thin plywood at home depot, but the quality is better, there is no chipping on the edges like there is with the plywood.
