A great read!
I absolutely loved Whispering Pines. It had just the right amount of creepiness and claustrophobic, small town feel. I found myself looking forward to reading what happened next. The alternating viewpoints were very effective. I’m an adult, but I love this type of story. Very well done!

Amazing book
It was a great book. Not too creepy, but definitely a little scary and overall it was an awesome book.

Well-written supernatural horror set in a fascinating town
Whispering Pines is like a mashup of Stranger Things, Eureka, Twin Peaks, and Gravity Falls rolled into a YA novel. Surprisingly, it works really well. Its opening chapter grabs your attention quickly with its suspenseful horror, and the ones that follow build up the bizarre and interesting town of Whispering Pines. The scares and otherworldly aspects of the novel are spooky without crossing too deep into dark territory. There's a good balance of school drama, crime investigation, and uncovering the supernatural spread throughout the plot. Rae and Caden were good protagonists, and their personal struggles about guilt and dealing with past mistakes made them compelling to read about. There were some loose ends left dangling by the end of the book, but most of the story's main points were wrapped up smoothly. I'm looking forward to its sequel novel!

Spooky and thrilling for kids and adults everywhere.
If you are a fan of Stranger Things television series or The Lost Boys movie, you’ll love Whispering Pines. It was a supernatural thrill ride wrapped in a modern day ghost story. The first chapter hooks you and from there, you won’t believe your eyes how amazingly well written it is. The world Lang and Bartkowski create for the reader is rich in storytelling magic and you really start to care the for main characters Rae and Caden. I couldn’t put it down!

Perfect Spooky Read
Whispering Pines is the perfect read for kids who love things that go bump in the night. My 11 year-old read it in one sitting, she couldn't be distracted! My 9 year-old read it in bits and pieces because it was so tense and chilling, but too good to not finish! Both kids gave it five stars. Highly recommend!

Great middle grade book
This book will be perfect for fans of Harry Potter and those that like an older middle grade feel to their mysteries. Love the scare factor. Not too much...just right. Recommended read.

LOVELY
If I could give this book 10 stars, I would because it's really amazing. Creepy, funny and enjoyable. I couldn't put it down. If I didn't have work to do, I would read the entire book in a day! (I read it in two days, btw).
