mine has a few minor scratches. I stock freezer at cosco and it bangs on the metal around the glass doors a lot. It seems pretty durable. I am not banging it into rock or dropping it to the ground on a back pack. It works well for my situation

Yes, BUT it really to heavy to wear on a badge holder. I tried it on one of mine and found that it will actually draw the cord partially from the winder.
