Med SpecWrist Lacer, 8" Black - Medium Right

I lost the wrist brace prescribed to be by my hand specialist for my carpal tunnel a long time ago and have been using crappy drug store replacements since. Decided to take a look on amazon and see how much they cost on here before going back to the doctor. To my surprise, they were only $15 versus the $50 I paid at the doctor! Great quality and the same price as the pinching ones you get at the drug store. This definitely keeps my wrist from hurting during the day after wearing while I'm sleeping. This is the only brand I will be purchasing if I ever need to replace my current one.

I purchased this particular splint because of the reviews and I can't say I love it but by this time of night my fingers are usually numb so it must be helping. I like the overall design as it feels evenly firm across the whole hand/wrist whereas some that have individual straps don't feel as comfortable to me. What I don't like is that the thumb strap is strangely long. If I set that one first and place the main strap over it, it doesn't lay right. If I do the main strap first and then the thumb, it is too long and catches on things. Yes, I know I can just cut it but it just is a nuisance. I do wear a cast/splint cover over it and that makes sleeping without catching it on my blanket or sheets much nicer..

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel after the birth of my 2nd child & received the left brace from my ortho's office. I was really pleased with how much support it gave me as I still had 2 small children to care for.. Before I wore this brace my wrist was very weak, unstable & at times felt like it would snap when I lifted my oldest child. Lifting them with the brace on is awkward at first but something you become accustomed to.Fast forward 2 years and I'm now having carpal tunnel problems with my right wrist. Luckily the writing on tag on the left brace was still readable so a quick search on here & I was able to find both the brand and size as I wanted the exact same one. I have a large wrist {7.75 in} and my hand when shown in the picture is 10.5 inches.. Based on the companies measurements I should wear an XL but the medium that was originally given to me by my ortho's office fits perfectly & isn't snug or lose, which really is key.When I have flare ups I quickly put one on & sleep in it at night. I'll take it off to bathe my kids, change diapers or if lifting them in it is difficult but I really recommend sleeping with them on if you suffer from CT. There have been a few instances where I've actually worn both braces to bed & feel like a boxer {very unsexy to my husband} but when I wake up in the morning without the burning, stabbing pain that used to keep me up all night I could care less about "sexiness"..I generally don't order anything that doesn't come with free super saver shipping as I like to avoid spending more money on shipping but it was a small price for my health & I was really pleased with how quickly it arrived to my FPO address {in Japan}

I've tried many wrist stabilizers. This is the best and most comfortable. The adjustable thumb feature is very important. The single hand lacing is perfect. It means that the whole area is equally stabilized. Does this sound like an advertisement? My apologies. I just really like this product. It's very high quality and has lasted me for years. It's less expensive than Futuro and walgreens brands, yet is a much higher quality medical product. I use it for carpal tunnel and it has helped so much.

I have used multiple wrist braces in the last few years. I wear them periodically during the day, while driving and at night. Most were uncomfortable, did not fit correctly or irritating to wear. The Med Spec braces, I now own both right and left hand, are amazing. I can sleep in it without discomfort, driving is easy and even typing is not overly difficult. The fact that they are priced so low is just a bonus. The elastic banding ensures a good wrist fit and the strap around the thumb adds to the customized comfort level.If you are in the market for a solid wrist brace, I would highly recommend Med Spec.

I bought this lacer as a spare so that I could wash the other unit and give it a couple of days to dry. Although this lacer is the same brand and size as the original one I purchased from a medical supply store, it is not nearly as well made nor does it fit as well. The savings was about 30% over the price I paid for the original unit at a medical supply store but considering the poor fit and inconsistent quality I would suggest not buying this on line in the future but go to a medical supply store and actually inspecting and trying the unit on before buying it.

I was waking up with my right hand tingling and uncomfortable every day for several weeks. I am an avid gardener and this is a busy time of year. Since my mom had carpal tunnel syndrome and used a wrist support, I thought I would start off with that instead of going straight to the doctor. I have been wearing this support at night and it is helping - no pain or discomfort in my wrist at all. At some point I will go to the Dr. to check on things, but for now, this is perfect. I did measure my wrist before ordering to get the right size and it fits perfectly.

I've used this wrist brace for a number of years. Without the brace I often would wake during the night with throbbing wrist pain. Several years ago I sought medical help but choose to give the brace a try instead of surgery. I would not say it helped heal the problem but it sure reduces the pain particularly after a day of typing or repetitive wrist action like painting.
