Very effective live catch traps
These live catch traps are very effective. The mice are drawn in by the smell of the bait com I ng through the vents. Once they find their way in, they're stuck. You can easily transport the trap to a safe release area, then cleanly and easily release the mice.

The don't work
I have bought these exact traps in the past and never had a problem. But this batch is different somehow or there is a new breed of mice that can figure out how to get in and eat the PB then get out! Not sure if they changed something in the design or not but they definitely didn't catch any mice.

Works but....
These traps do catch mice....but realistically only room for 1 at a time. The biggest issue is that these are made from a semi-soft plastic and if you don't empty the trap within a few hours of a catch, the mice will chew a hole into the trap and escape.

Works amazing!
These work amazing. They are for mice though, NOT RATS. They are on the smaller side but they work amazing. Put a little but of peanut butter inside, place them where you see mice, and the mice just filled them up. They can fit multiple mice as well so that was nice. Will definitely buy again if needed.

(UPDATE Yes I caught something) Well built, slow to take bait. Going back to the Victor wood traps
Update: Caught some mice, but not sure they're humaneSo the traditional Victor snap traps definitely worked faster. But these did eventually catch mice. The secret is, you've got to put a lot of peanut butter in them. Like a huge dollop. I also suspect there are not enough air holes, I may drill a few more. There are some problems, though. I checked these every day for a couple weeks, and kindof gave up on them. When I came back to them a few weeks later, sure I had caught mice in 3 out of 6 traps, but they were dead, dehydration. So it wasn't really more humane. Also, even if I had found them in time, with that much peanut butter in them, the mouse gets absolutely soaked in peanut butter. They're never going to be able to clean themselves off or survive if you let them go. I'm thinking about experimenting with a dry food (bread, cat food, etc) and putting drops of peanut oil on the dry food. Finally, the traps are very dark, you can't see if there's a mouse in there unless you pick it up and hold a flashlight right up to it. Makes it difficult and inconvenient if you're got it under a shelf, in the corner, etc.On the plus side, when you've got a dead mouse in there, the flies and bugs aren't going to be able to get inside the trap to lay eggs. If you've ever had a dead rodent trapped somewhere, you know that you're going to have a batch of flies within a few days.I still hold my original opinion that the old fashioned Victor wooden snap traps are best. However, these did actually catch something, and they're easy to rinse and re-bait. So, if I'm in a place where I can't have an open trap (like an area with pets or kids), then this would probably be my second choice.P.S. Yes I have tried the clear rectangle humane traps, and I do like these Victor traps better. The rectangle style are cheaply made, they crack easily, the doors break off, and it's harder to get the mouse out. Plus, these Victor humane traps are more versatile, and can be placed outside if necessary.I'm updating to 3.5 Stars. Original review:============My experience after running a warehouse for 10 years is that the old fashioned Victor snap traps are by far the best.I have tried every conceivable contraption - the black plastic easy set, the electrocution, the bucket with water, glue traps - and the only thing that works consistently is the old fashioned 50 cent wooden Victor traps.I'll mention that other brands of wooden traps (such as TomCat) do not work as well, they frequently miss or fail to snap. Stick with Victor brand.Victor is my favorite company when it comes to rodent control, and these humane traps seem well built and like a good value. And I really want them to work, as I prefer the idea of a humane trap. But after a week, with lots and lots of peanut butter, the mice simply won't climb inside this thing.I'm going back to the wooden Victor traps.

Assembly Required?
I have purchased these traps elsewhere with no issues but needed multiple traps so went to Amazon to buy in bulk. Half the box of traps required assembly. The box looked like it was a repackaging and resale. I am not pleased by this. There is no odor thankfully and all the traps appear to be in original packaging but still. Having to reassemble these was a pain since there are no instructions on how to do so. They aren't supposed to need that.
