Will help heal a damaged Acid Mantle!
I really like this product. I was going through a period w/ my skin experiencing irritation, dryness, breakouts in areas I do not usually get them, & just a dullness overall. I'm a medical esthetician & clients expect their skin specialists to have perfect skin, but we have our issues also; mine happen 2 be hormonal imbalances that cause all kinds of skin issues. I also try out a lot of new products on the market so I can form an opinion & make recommendations to my clients. Because it's summer, I've been sweating more than usual, that alone can throw off ur skin's pH balance, & I think a product or 2 I tried just did not agree w/ my skin & caused some damage pretty quickly. My skin's acid mantle got to be badly damaged & ur skin needs a healthy acid mantle (made up of a layer of sweat, sebum & good bacteria) to keep the good in (moisture) & the bad out (pollution, bad bacteria, dirt, etc). When it's damaged you can experience irritation, allergic reactions, eczema, breakouts, dryness, peeling or excessive oiliness. Because this product is pH balanced & simply contains soothing, hydrating ingredients, it will help to heal your skin's acid mantle/ moisture barrier. I feel like it gives my skin gentle hydration, absorbs quickly & doesn't leave thatthat sticky feeling. My skin started looking better almost right away with the small texture issues from little closed comedones going away & the excessive dryness gone too. My skin needed that pH balanced hydration w/ no pore clogging ingredients. You must get rid of the products or issues that cause the break down to begin with though or healing can't occur. Harsh cleansers w/ SLSs, physical exfoliators, chemical exfoliators used too often, rubbing your skin, not wearing SPF (always wear spf!) serums & creams w/ strong acids or retinoids. It doesn't mean you can't ever use those products again, but you have to heal your acid mantle then introduce 1 or 2 slowly, & never pile multiple products on top of each other. Many times people w/ acne think they can get rid of it faster by using a cleanser, serums, moiturizer & trmts all targeted for acne w/ ingredients 2 treat it, but they just end up damaging their skin & making it easier for the inflammation causing bacteria to move in & multiply in the pores that are clogged. They are clogged because the harsh products dried their skin so much it reacted by over producing sticky sebum that trapped dead skin cells inside the pore = acne. If you expect this product to work you need to use it w/ a gentle cleanser, maybe 1 spot trmt or serum & that's it. It absolutely helped me repair my acid mantle. If you have a healthy acid mantle to keep out the bad that can be 1 of the best things for preventing breakouts, unless they are hormonal & then other things are involved. I took 1 star away because while I do think a good pH balaced product can go a long way to prevent skin issues, & be soothing & calming to inflammed acne this product is really not going to treat current breakouts. If you already have a healthy acid mantle & are breaking out for any # of reasons, this may help some because it can help regulate skin's pH (a healthy range is 4.5-5.5) but it will not treat. There are no active antibacterials, antimicrobials, of anything that could unclog pores like SA. That's why I said it needs to be used in combo w/ an acne trmt that is not overly harsh. Research has shown 2.5%, 5% & 10% benzoyl peroxide are all equally effective, you just get more irritation as u increase %. I will keep using this product because I like that it is pH balanced & does give my skin the hydration it needs. I would recommed this to clients w/ irritation, eczema, rosacea, acne & more, but I would recommed it along w/ a trmt plan & other products.

Love this product. It's the only moisturizer I have found that doesn't break me out. Here is the advice I would offer if you're thinking of trying it: I think it is best viewed as a product that will lock moisture in, rather than working as a moisturizer on its own. When I first started using it, I was using a foaming cleanser, and that combo was NOT GOOD. The cleanser was drying me out, and then the Sebamed was just sealing in the sadness, essentially. Once I switched to a hydrating cleanser, I saw immediate improvement, and the Sebamed became an irreplaceable product in my routine. At some point, I am hoping I can find a lighter moisturizer to layer under it. Even if that never happens, using it the way I do now has vastly improved my skin. I do notice my face feels a bit "congested" after a while, and I'm not sure if that's the cleanser or the gel (or a combo), so I do exfoliate once a week (I just use Stridex for that). It has been great to find something totally non irritating after so much experimentation that only resulted in painful cysts and blackheads. But to be effective, I think you really need to be absolutely sure that none of the other products you are using are causing problems. Once you have that down, this is a great 'support' product.Update: for the winter, I now layer Hada Labo Hyaluronic Light Lotion and a Beton product underneath! My relationship with this product is still going strong! I have purchased it multiple times!

Contains Panthenol
This probably works for most people, however - if you are super susceptible to ANYTHING that clogs pores than beware! This contains panthenol (B5) which is a known pore-clogger. Some people can handle it - I decided to try it for my fungal acne but it was still a no-go. I used this stuff once and had the a huge breakout of cystic pimples all over my forehead - worse than usual. Back to the drawing board...

Doesn't break me out, but also not the best moisturizer
I have extremely acne-prone skin, so "doesn't break me out" is pretty huge. However, it's also just not the most powerful moisturizer, and can sometimes leave a sticky residue if you try to use too much (because you're desperate for moisture). If every moisturizer breaks you out, I definitely recommend this as a starting point while you look for a more potent moisturizer

Safe & simple moisturizer with a pleasant application
My first impressions of this moisturizer was how nice it was to apply. For context I have dry acne prone sensitive skin and I believe the type of acne I have is fungal acne that is mostly located on my forehead. Anyways, the size of the bottle is quite small being 50ml, but it's not too bad for the price. Applying this moisturizer alone may work for those with not so much dehydrated skin, but for most people I'd say this moisturizer isn't that great on its own and greatly benefits from a few drops of your preferred oil each time you apply it. I use 4 drops of squalane oil mixed with the moisturizer every time I use it and it suffices. I feel that this moisturizer is a good choice when you want a safe option that isn't likely to break you out, but just note that this moisturizer is not much moisturizing on it's own and is best paired with an oil of your choice.

No breakouts from it, but also not super moisturizing
My skin is about average in terms of oiliness/dryness. I have been dealing with acne for years, and the formula that finally helped me made my skin drier, so I bought this since it shouldn't cause breakouts. Fortunately, it truly doesn't cause breakouts on my face, but I also don't find it to really moisturize my skin. I only use it occasionally as I have another go-to moisturizer.

Incredible, saved me from an allergic reaction to expensive anti acne products.
I bought some expensive anti blemish skincare, hoping that the new routine with new products with hype reviews would fix my hormonal acne. I ended up having a severe allergic reaction to these so called 'products for acne prone and sensitive skin'. I learnt my lesson when it comes to expensive skincare, and claims about products being dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic, etc. After doing some research into the science behind skincare, I came across a blog article that mentioned this gel and how it was so good at naturally moisturising your skin, without unnecessary additives such as alcohol and fragrance, as well as being an optimal ph level for your skin. (This is VERY important!)This product, hands down, SAVED my skin. Together with the Hada Labo Goku-Jyun moist lotion, My allergic reaction (which gave me very bad acne for 8 MONTHS) subsided and was soothed. This product helped my skin to get back on track after being completely traumatised. I tried so many other products to try and fix what was done to my skin by the expensive anti blemish products and only after I found this and the Hada Labo lotion did it eventually start to go away. Once I found these products, my reaction went away after 6-8 weeks, considering that I suffered for 8 months prior to this I'd say it's a miracle.I have repurchased this product many times, and always reach for this when my skin is feeling irritated, itchy, upset or hot. I know that my skin is in safe hands when I use this product.I have combination-sensitive skin, that easily breaks out due to products not suiting my skin.Would definitely recommend!5 ***** !

Winner
Skin type: Oily/Combo and Sensitive - my skin hates everything. Yay.I really love this, really moisturizing, touch dry and non greasy. I use the mattifying cream on top of this one and they compliment each other really well. 100% glad I tried this. I checked the ingredients on skincarisma before getting it due to my annoying skin. It has no silicone, sulfates, alcohol, allergens or basically anything bad. I can't remember if the ingredients are listed but ta-da:Aqua, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Sodium Carbomer, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol.

Should of tried sooner
Really like this, I have tried multiple moisturisers, a lot of high end brand ones to, however they all break me out...this has actually cleared my skin up and stopped it being as oily! Will be repurchasing as needed, very happy I tried this :)
