Its great
It's great and easy to use i just wish i had bought the 20watt version. Super easy to clean and assemble. Adjusting machine and laser height are easy and fast, kinda wish the tumbler holder part came with a stabilizer but other than that no complaints, software downloads fast and updates itself directly

For the most part it's a good laser!
The reason why I say that is cause the laser is solid itself. The customer care needs work though. They are there to help yes, but they take the long way to get to the end result of getting you what you need. I'm a US citizen. They are based overseas. So their response comes at an inconvenient time here. I wish they had a customer service here in the states.

Good but not what I need
This system was easy to set up and even though my SD card did not function Customer Service was easy to contact.Once I got it running it has been super easy to use and works great on wood. I have yet to get it to put anything on glass or PlexiGlass. As for Stainless steel, it will faintly mark it. I do not think the 5 Watt is strong enough.I am trying various techniques to get it to darken on the steel and to even imprint on glass. If I can't I will probably be sending it back.

User Friendly
This is my first tool of this type. I found it to be well packaged, assembly was simple, and once up and operating, I found it to be very user friendly. I am happy with my choice of purchasing the XTool D1.

Total scam & waste of money!
I now really want a gloforge. This machine seemed great after reading some reviews and thousands cheaper. I got less than what I paid for! Don't leave this unattended! After a couple of weeks of trying to get this to work, it burned through 2 layers of heat protective mats, ruined my craft table and would have burned my house down if I wasn't watching to unplug. I'm very careful with my reviews, I figure some people are lacking common sense and reasonable aptitude. I've returned the machine through designated process within time guidelines. I've sent 3 messages inquiring about the status of my return without response.

It’s good but the upgrade to 10w is worth the money
I bought this about 3 months ago and wanted to engrave the a table that I was building. I quickly learned that there was a lot of trial and error to getting the perfect color out of the laser. It was easy to get some basic letters on a piece of scrap wood. Pictures are another story. You will quickly find yourself going down the rabbit hole of power and speed on different materials to get the right balance of speed vs color and depth. Then you will be jumping to paid software to do the cutting and saving all your presets into folders for each materials. Doing math to find out how wide the laserbeam is so that you can set the size of the rows to match. The software defaults to 1mm and the laser is .8mm wide so it will leave lines in hardwood. The one thing that I wish I had done was go for the 10w laser over the 5w. It cuts 3 times faster and can do twice as many materials. It’s worth the extra money if you are doing anything bigger that a drink coaster. The table turned out great but the 12 by 16 image that I put on the bottom of the table took 16hours to cut.

Amazing customer service and support
Bought the machine with expectation of it being a 10w but it wasn’t and wasn’t capable of doing what I needed from it. Contacted company and they were beyond amazing to deal with and helped me fix what I need fixed and correct the mistake plus added so much more!!! Very refreshing to deal with a company who actually listens and does their very best to satisfy customers!!! Rare in these times! Alex was super efficient and pleasant and I’m extremely satisfied with the conclusion!! Will definitely be back when it’s time to upgrade!!

Great machine so far
Been using a laser engraving machine for about a year and a half. Started out with a small one making and selling little ornaments. Paid for my little engraving machine 5 times over. Decided to upgrade to the xtool d1 5w with rotary and it has paid for it's self already. Be prepared to order air assist and a housing. But overall I have not had any issues.

Great Machine
The media could not be loaded. I was worried about some of the bad reviews but this machine is built very well. It is a sinch to operate. Free engraving software is very limited for anyone experienced with design software. you will want to upgrade software to liteburn or something.Very versatile, well built and super easy to operate.
